What position would Chelsea even want him for? Surely he'd be on the bench there

Got about £200 mill burning a hole in their pocket so they may as well use some to try and weaken rival teams

Still wouldn’t be shocked if it’s Brighton saying Chelsea have bid to make us up our offer. Interested to know who our plan B is though if we do miss out.

JP is a fairly unique profile.

City love that profile.  Alvarez. Marmoush played at striker and AM.

Agreed, it’s why we were interested in Cunha as well. Not that many players around.

I remember back in the day that us, us, West Ham and Spurs would always be chasing the same kind of targets, now it's Chelsea copying our homework. I'm honestly sick to fucking death of them. But if Pedro wants to be stockpiled onto the heap of bodies they have over there and never build a meaningful connection with his fans then fuck him, just like Tosin.

I understand Chelsea pay more and I wouldn't begrudge someone trying to better themselves financially but surely your move after this one is a lot more prosperous if you've contributed to an exciting Newcastle team rather than wasting away at Chelsea

Think Chelsea were looking at him as a wide forward on the left, but have since prioritised Gittens instead?

Don't think they're still after him as much.

Especially as he isn't a previous Man City academy kid, which appears to be their latest obsession.

Pointless worrying about Chelsea with every transfer. Eventually they won’t want someone we want

Chelsea transfer policy = target all Newcastle targets as they seem to know what they are doing

That's what I was thinking, otherwise they might have been looking at him as a number 10/CAM, but doesn't Palmer play there? In either case he'd be sitting on the bench for them.

Seems that the press are reporting discussions as official bids (same as Guehi). According to Romano, Chelsea haven't bid yet.

Has he tweeted that??

Yeah, it's that left side they're prioritising at the minute.

Gittens appears to be the one they really want there.

As for the number 10, they do play Palmer there as the starter. And seen them linked with Harvey Elliott recently as an option there.

Chelseas scouting (done by Boehly himself):

*Checks tranfer rumours online*

*Googles "players wanted by top Premier League clubs"*

*Watches some youtube highlights of those players*

*Puts in bids for them at the quoted price from internet articles*
