When he was vying with Wilson for the first team shirt we saw his best performances IMO. Not sure on that mind. Last 18 months in particular he's been immense overall and that's with no rest or competition.

A backup striker needs to be versatile so he gets more playing time. Like City had to sell Alvarez because he only played striker. Marmoush can play striker, left wing, and CAM, so he'll get way more minutes than Alvarez did at City. Isak can't play every game, even if he's fit and healthy. He needs to be rotated. I don't see him starting 8 games in three weeks; probably 5 and 3 on the bench or else he'll burn out or get hurt, probably the latter.

Stay away from Welbeck and De Bruyne – high wages, injury-prone, and slow. Trippier and BDB were needed when they joined, helping us go from relegation to the Champions League, but we shouldn't sign players like that anymore. JP plays CAM, LW, and striker, so getting him means we don't need another CM unless we sell Longstaff or Willock. We just need a RW and a CB, then we're good. A new GK if the price is right and we move Dubravka or Pope. Thiago Silva was good for Chelsea, Milner good for Liverpool at 34, Ashley Young doing a job at 39, Vardy, Willian etc
Menace
I don't agree with that at all - Welbeck has been a very good signing for Brighton.

I thought both him and Wilson were hungrier when they knew they had competition. It didn't feel like that in the last month of the season just ended where it felt like he was playing because there was no one else. You can't give everything if you aren't 100% fit. I also think it makes you lazier when there's no one at your back ready to come in if you are not performing.

MagMal
I was thinking about the Chelsea thing and the amount of players they have the other night while watching that world club bollocks and if you think about it I can understand why players are going there. If you went to a normal club you would potentially play 40-50 games per season domesticly, in Europe another 10 say so 60 games a season and you are knackered come the world cup, euros etc but go to Chelsea, get rotated, play 2/3rds of the games, have a chance to win something, good long contracts and don't smash your body to bits as you will get down time due to the rotation, maybe the players aren't as daft as we think. Put like that, the cheating scumbags seem like quite a good option. Not thought of it like that, and not sure what it says about the players.
