For what its worth i do think Isak deserves a pay rise, as do our other top class players, thats on PIF to sort out new sponsorship deals to pay for it

Before this shit show started I could agree with this. But if he or his agent has anything to do with this……….and Liverpool must be getting encouragement from somewhere then I don’t think he does anymore. Would set a very bad precedent.

This psychological attack is being conducted while the team are away on the other side of the planet. The whole thing is geared up to cause as much destabilisation as possible. Hopefully we can navigate ourselves through this and come out stronger. The wound though is deep, I just can't get my head around the actions of Isak, by all means put in a request, but this appears to be a deliberate torpedo right into the club itself.

I wait to hear his side from his own mouth before I make up my mind fully about his part in all this. For now we keep him, even if he's sat on the cunt box for most of the season. No way should we ever sell him to Liverpool.

I'd be intrigued to know what the other plays make of it like. I reckon the older ones just thing he's been stupid. The younger ones probably think it's fair game. I think gone are the days that players worry about loyalty. There's only one player I can truly imagine being raging and that's Lascelles.

Maybe I’m being generous to Isak but I think he’s probably a naive guy being led by the nose by his agent and Liverpool’s devious shenanigans. He’s not the first. If he commits himself to playing this season for us and doesn’t skive off any competitive games, then I’m ok with him.

He knows exactly what he is doing imo.

I know I've said it before, but this really feels like a sliding doors moment for the "project." I really hope everyone from Howe to Yasir at the very top are seeing this summer as the wake up call it appears to be.

Despite our recent success, we aren't an "elite" club yet. And until we get the proper infrastructure in place, and make big moves to in revenue, we will stay that way. Eddie can't work miracles forever, and eventually, unfortunately money talks.

The current summer has been a disaster, and because of that, I don't think we should sell Isak for any amount. The path forward now should be completely closing the door and letting him know he's here for another year period.

Spend the next few weeks getting 3 realistic bodies through the door. Something like Wissa, Gallagher, and a young pacy CB. Is it the flashy summer we'd all have hoped for? No, but I don't think anyone would argue those 3 through the door plus Elanga and Ramsdale isn't a huge improvement on last year's squad, in terms of depth and addressing our major weaknesses.

From there, spend the season getting our hierarchy up to snuff and deal with this issue next summer.

I fear selling Isak at this point in the summer, even for something like 150 mil carries huge risks. I don't think anyone has confidence that the current set up will be able to spend the money wisely in time for the season. We'd be stuck with probably having to pay over the odds for 3rd and 4th choice targets with most of our primary targets unavailable, and clubs knowing we have the Isak money along with our desperation to make moves before the deadline.

We could have a very realistic scenario where the team is weaker this season, we struggle with champions league schedule and finish at the back end of the top 10.

Then we'd have a similar scenario to this summer with our top players looking to leave, and all of the hard work undone. Basically back to square one. A club capable of having a great season if everything falls into place, but not at the table with the "big boys"

This decision is more than just replacing a player, or transfer kitty's. It's about our image as a club and the statement we make to the league about where we belong.

Will be an interesting few weeks regardless

yeah but we expect Liverpool to be greedy dickheads.. the frustrating part is Isak. Just won a trophy with a team and wants to leave not even few months later.

A matter of minutes later it would appear.

No chance. They bid and we give them a response that encourages them or we stick to the not for sale

This is how the Tampa Bay Bucs dealt with a nearish term contract issue coming up with Baker Mayfield, the team's QB:

Mayfield is signed through the 2026 season on a deal that did not originally guarantee any of the money he’s set to receive in the final year of the deal. During an interview with Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, Mayfield said that the Bucs agreed to guarantee an undisclosed amount of that compensation while the two sides look toward a longer extension.

“Right now, I’m under contract through ’26,” Mayfield said. “So it was really just about getting guaranteed money for ’26, and they did that. And that’s all I can ask for. I signed the contract, I knew what it was. Right now, it’s winning. I know good things will happen after that. I trust this place. I love being here. Obviously, used to bouncing around. I’ve done that before, but I don’t want to leave. It’s how can we wn right now? We have a team that’s really, really well built and [General Manager Jason Licht] and those guys did it. So, if we win right now good things will happen.”

Sky Andrew, he's a football agent, has been for a long time.

Ahh cheers. Heard him on talksport years ago. Good to put face to the name.

so essentially if we sell Isak to Liverpool it’s because we want to
