Full quotes here...

Real insight into posters’ mentalities this. To me, that all reads perfectly fine. He wasn’t going to be playing, there’s been speculation, so just leave him at home out of the way of prying eyes. Eddie couldn’t really say anything more confident of him staying, could he?

Jesus christ, the quotes keep getting worse

Quote

Yes I've had discussions with him, but that's not abnormal. I respect a player's career and how short it is. Alex has been really good, he's trained really well and I realise there'll be noise around him.

I think he's off this summer unfortunately, probably to Liverpool.

Eddie is not this daft, the cynic in me thinks this might be some PR to make it look like Isak pushed leave, should it happen. The club know it won't land well with fans if they sell him.

Whats wrong with that quote like? As always, I’d expect that watching Eddie say it will be absolutely fine… but just reading it makes it seem more negative than it actually is.

£120m gets you James Trafford and Nicolas Jackson at today's prices WE ARE NOT SELLING Isak this window, even if he puts in a transfer request, it'll be blocked.

Harry Kane wanted to leave Spurs for years, but Levy was able to block a move in several windows due to him being on such a lengthy contract. I see a similar scenario playing out here. If that wasn't blindingly obvious, then Liverpool wouldn't have been so quick in spunking €100m on Ekitike.

Isak will leave next summer.

….that DOES sounds very worrying to me.

Which part worries you the most? Is it that he confirmed theres been no approach, thats hes confident he will be here start of season or that he's going on the Asia Tour?

I can live with him leaving next year. And for the love of god let it be a club abroad. We can’t be in a position of needing two strikers for the season let alone the moral damage it will inflict on the squad.

The short career line concerns me the most. Suggest to me that Isak has told the club he want to play at the very top and/or earn at the very top, and we can't really offer either.

Isak is a grown ass man, he should be able to deal with any speculation surrounding him. The fact that he didn't show solidarity by travelling and sitting with his teammates has certainly raised my eyebrow a millimeter or two. As for Howe, he could have said anything other than what he said. 'Slight niggle', 'virus' or 'dog ate his homework' all spring to mind

It might be nothing, but my alarm monitor has went from nonchalant to curious.

Fuck off Liverpool you manky scouse criminal element stereotypes.

He did travel

Most worrisome part of the quote was that they "mutually agreed" he shouldn't be with the squad if he's not playing.

If everything was fine, he'd just sit on the bench and carry on as usual and this would be a non-story for the club. Sounds like this came from Isak. Guess we'll wait and see
