Wouldn't be surprised if todays performance was as a result of this - something like this will unsettle the whole team.

Taking a trip to the launderette later, shall I stop by to pick up some of your stuff?

My overall impression is, if we don’t sort this window out he’ll go in late August. If we get it right he’ll hopefully stay but clearly we’re a total shitshow behind the scenes at the moment. Don’t think that can be argued against

Which is slight worse imo :howe:

Aye. It means despite prior plans to play Isak in the Celtic game, either Howe noticed in Isak that he was unsettled and sent him home OR Isak approached Eddie to discuss he'd rather not play and thus went home.

Most worrisome part of the quote was that they "mutually agreed" he shouldn't be with the squad if he's not playing.

If everything was fine, he'd just sit on the bench and carry on as usual and this would be a non-story for the club. Sounds like this came from Isak. Guess we'll wait and see

Definitely. Everything hints towards a want-away player.

I think Liverpool will be back with an offer early next week. Hopefully not less than £140m. Next few weeks are gonna be super stressful, as we already need three top players.

I'm not exactly a bedwetter or anything, but the Baghdad Bobs saying this is all nothing and people are just overreacting sound absolutely mental tbh.

Yeap, I have to say I'm less confident than I was a few hours ago now.

To me it sounds like Howe took the deision not to play him, then there's been some sort of incident that's spooked him or rattled Isak (could have been a journalist asking a question or anything), so Howe being Howe has sent him home.

Still think it's probably something along these lines

Me too. Although I still think he’ll stay this season, just less confident than a few hours ago. A few hours ago, I was certain he would stay.

Can you imagine if we go into the season and CL campaign with Osula and Gordon as our striking options

Aye there's absolutely nothing normal about Eddie's quotes, especially, as others have pointed out, considering Isak travelled and then went home.

Eddie typically gives absolutely nowt away and entirely dilutes any potential drama, which makes these soundbites feel all the more strange.

Doesn’t bear thinking about and I really like Osula. Would prefer him on the right for the time being as I don’t think he has figured out how to play CF positionally yet. Gordon is a million miles away from being a striker, would prefer Barnes there over Gordon

Aye, but which scenario is far more common?

True there’s nothing common about a player getting sent home coz his heads been turned tho

Tbf if Isak does go there’ll be plenty money to throw around

What would your comments have been had we won 4-0? Knee jerk.
