I would be stunned and also disappointed in the club if we sell Isak this summer mind . We hold all the power with 3 years left on his contract. Even if he kicks up a fuss which I don't think he will we still should be saying no and making him give us another season. Not a lot we can do next summer with only two years left but it sends out the totally wrong message about our ambitions etc if we sell him this window.

Would people rather sell Isak for £150M and sign Ekitike for £80M, or sign Isak up to a new contract and not get Ekitike at all?

Sigh Isak up

I was thinking about what we could/should be offering him on his new contract...

£250k p/w and a £10m signing bonus which is spread out over the term of the contract?

It's comfortably our highest paid but not so far ahead of Bruno etc?

How does that affect PSR?

I think the point is we could essentially give him a new contract which would reduce his amortization and it's essentially free in accounting terms as we've stretched the amortisation over a longer period.

He has book value of £31m left which is roughly £10m per year.

Extending by 2 years brings the £31m to £6.2m per year.

We could offer him a £75k p/week rise without having an affect on PSR.

Keep Isak every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

I love the idea of getting both but Isak is simply the best player I've ever seen at Newcastle and a genuine world class talent.

That 120 million thing makes no sense at all if you think about it . Liverpool know we won't sell for that and by all accounts have already told them where to go. it's almost as if they are just acting like twats for the sake of it .

I thought the bin dippers had hit peak cunt under Klopp, who knew there were still levels to go.

Awesome analysis, cheers mate.

That wouldn't put him even on £200k p/w so likely wouldn't be enough to tempt him to resign?

I’d like us to retire the term ‘bed wetting’. It’s RTG-coded.

Instead can I suggest ‘pant shitting’?

Fair enough, but there might be times when we’re likely to be ‘spending threepence’. Like a deer voiding everything when a pack of wolves are in  hot pursuit!

and Newcastle are right to tell them to fuck off!

WTF kind of a wanky nothing article is this?

Wow, well done Liverpool for displaying such mighty courage by enquiring about the availability of the best striker in the world who plays for a club below you in the football food chain before retreating back to your hovel when you find out that the selling club won't be short changed and the player won't agitate for a move.

Stunning and brave.

I'd be tempted to sell Isak in that scenario if it was to a club abroad. As it's Liverpool though, definitely not.
