It’s a kick in the balls if true, but the boy did good for us, our boys upstairs didn’t, good luck to the guy.

Anyone know how to take a name and number off the back of a shirt?

If you bought it from Turkey like I did with my son's, a stiff breeze should do it.

Our transfer policy of targeting more high profile 'sure things' to enhance the starting XI was probably in part dictated by our desire to keep him and prove a certain level of ambition.

What a mess given the way that has backfired and we have been unable to sign almost anybody.

Chances are he was as probably gonna try and leave anyway given it's largely down to the level of salary he could receive elsewhere.

I wouldn’t be anywhere near as upset about this if we seemed like we had any sort of clue what we are at in the transfer market.

We could have had Ekitike as a replacement, probably should have checked at the time if Isak wanted to go.

How? Liverpool were always getting him.

I submitted some Newcastle kits to a YouTube channel to be reviewed. It hasn't aired yet, but... :anguish:

He’s signed for Motherwell?

Wouldn't be surprised if he would be less injured elsewhere. We demand a lot from our striker. Obviously the top clubs would be able to sub him out when necessary aswell. Doesn't change the fact that his injuries were a problem for us at times, mind.

People split up all the time, it happens. Such is life

But refusing to go anywhere with your current girlfriend whilst sitting on the sofa at home sending dick pics to one of her pals that you fancy would be considered very unacceptable behaviour

And the strong suspicion is that Isak’s got his pants round his ankles and phone in hand right now

Hope not, hope he misses the season.

"The rot will set in" ffs.

It's not long ago Torres, Suarez, Alonso, Coutinho etc were moving on to other things from Liverpool. We'll replace him and sign others.

what are you on about? :burn2:

Liverpool had their initial bid for Wirtz rejected. Just like they also did for Ekitike.

It's just games and negotiation tactics and we fall foul to it. The selling club like to save face. For months, the reports said Ekitike will only be sold for €100m. The actual figure is way less. Bayer and Liverpool reported different figures for Wirtz. What I'm saying is all of that is just noise. Both sides want to look smart. Liverpool will have more than £200m once they sell Diaz, Nunez, Chiesa, Elliott, Doak and Morton. They will bid more than £130m with add-ons.

Was it not widely speculated that Isak was their first choice target and they’d move on to Ekitike if we didn’t play ball?

Or do we not believe that?

Personally I'd get Wissa in ASAP and continue focusing on other targets and positions. It's not ideal but given Isak and Wilson's fitness problems last season in the interim we at least have a PL ready CF to start the season and we're not substantially worse off.

Dig heals in on Isak, play everything with straight bat, and say he's not being sold this summer under any circumstances. Keep contract offer (up to 200-220k) on the table with an achievable release clause next summer.

The optics of selling him to Liverpool this summer are abysmal and go far beyond the short term.

Adequate cover in Ekitike that will allow him rest.

I’m beginning to wonder if Isak was as fucked as we all think after the cup final or is that when this current huff began?

Yep I reckon his head must have been turned even then , clearly wasn't injured as he's had no surgery or anything this summer . He was probably hoping we didn't get champions league to make it easier for him to leave .

I'd do this, but offer him a 250 to stick around for the year and release or 300 and no release clause, no moving next summer.
