Winter speaking some sense here.

Would agree with everything other than Newcastle have good comms people. I don't think that is the case.

Canny this thanks for sharing.

Winter is wasted writing such posts on that trash website.

Bayern Munich looking to replace an ageing Kane.

Atletico Madrid - flush with money from KSA sponsors. Spent £110m on Felix so could easily do more on Isak

Barca - revamped Camp Nou, need for a replacement for 39 year old Lewa and showpiece signing

Just a few flaws in your argument. Given you signed up Saturday, presuming you’re a Dipper.

Why do people keep saying Barca. Just look at what happened with their pre-season game just now coz of financial reasons. They are in a mess. They couldn't afford Williams or Diaz for around £60-70m, they opted for Rashford on loan. They owe their third choice keeper €40m. They just finished paying off Messi and co. They will offer pennies for Isak.

The "we sold Cole to Man United and rebuilt" line is such an own goal.

We sold him to the Champions who then beat us to the league title twice, went on to win the treble with him in their team, and dominated English football for over a decade ffs.

And he absolutely bettered his career by winning the lot, unfortunately Isak is no different..let's be honest wherever he ends up he'll be winning regular trophies. Biggest issue in this is yet again lack of plan B.

We also sold him because the manager wanted to. The board at that time did not want to sell.

The Cole sale has no similarity to the departures of Waddle, Beardsley, Gascoigne & Carrol whatsoever. Except for the pain it caused the support, of course.

He’s to go now. We can’t have a situation that he has manufactured result in him being placated with a pay rise and gentleman’s agreement to leave next summer as that then becomes the playbook for Tonali, Tino, Bruno etc etc

Get what we can and move on. Sickening behaviour from him and his agent.

Just hold him to his contract for another year, no pay rise, if he's a prick and tries to half arse it then maybe he won't get the move he wants.

I know that's not generally how it works but I'm starting to think it wouldn't be a bad play.

No doubt people on here will tell me how wrong I am

What I have understood is that pre-season tour is in problem purely because the promoters haven’t paid what was promised. Would you go play against weak sides without being paid what was promised? These tours create income and if not paid, then what’s the point?

They could have afforded Williams, but he just used them to flush better deal. Everything was ready on Barcelona’s side. Diaz wants Bayern. They don’t owe that to Ter Stegen, they just want him to leave club so they don’t have to keep paying him high salary as back-up option. But Barcelona can’t afford Isak, that’s for sure.

Conveniently skipped over the part about being a Liverpool fan.

Barca in the revamped Camp Nou will pull whatever economic levers they need to buy him. You also denied Bayern could afford him - the same Bayern who were above your club in the Deloitte Rich List.

I’d rather we sell now and reinvest well. Definitely better than keeping him unhappy and end up finishing 8th anyway.

But I do worry on our ability to invest well. The amount of signings we’ve missed out on this summer.

It might be better to wait until next summer just so we can get our house in order with a new CEO and Director of football.

The success Cole had at Man Utd is a glaring example though of why we should be doing everything we can to keep Isak. History cannot be allowed to repeat itself yet again.

That's redundant mate. Repeat itself would suffice.

Sorry, I'm just bored. 😉😆

This is my preferred option now aswell if we don't we a bid in the region of £140-150m.

Giving him a new high paying contract is the last thing we should do after his recent antics.

I would resist as sale as much and as long as possible, unless its to a club abroad. And, if there's any way possible we are able to do it, then I would press on with Wissa AND Sesko.

Make Isak work for his place, and unless we get an offer that WE deem appropriate, then he stays until next summer.

If by making the signings we need to this summer we are close to a PSR breach, then we sell Isak next summer to sort it.

That above may be cloud cookoo land, but fuck it. Footballs fucked now, as this summers spending by certain clubs shows.

That's if Isak keeps fit which I'm not so sure he will. I think he could be another Wilson longer term, made of glass.

It may well be that Isak leaves, but atleast don't sell him to a premier league club. If its money he wants, then he is already used to Saudi money, so may as well go all in. That would work well for us also..

You telling me Green2025 isn't actually a Newcastle fan who is just absolutely desperate to sell Isak to Liverpool?!

I don’t know why these weirdos do it. I’d call him Scouse but he probably couldn’t point to Liverpool on a map like most of their armada of plastics.

A lot of moist and damp beds in this thread

Having good/great players usually comes with them having suitors, it's a normal cycle in football

Admittedly the Ashley years left us with a lot of junk so we've not been accustomed to being hawked

That said, if we have any aspirations of being a consistent Top 6+ side best to get used to this (it's ultimately a good signal relative to the alternative)

It's on the club/board to raise the level of the club so it's aspirational to those level of players, they've done a great job in a short space of time but there's clearly a fair bit still to be done

All that does is drag it on. Come the start of the season he wont be "match fit" to play anyway or wont be in the right "mental space"

No doubt he will manage to pick another niggle up mid august as well
