Footballers can’t just leave jobs like ordinary people can, that’s the price they pay for being incredibly privileged and massively rich by playing a game every day.

They’re massive assets to billion pound businesses and they can only move if the right solution can be found for all parties.

To be honest Tommy, I Don't expect any involvment from him. He's the head of the worlds largest sovereign wealth fund I think one glimpse of his calendar would lead to us shitting ourselves truly.

That being said, they hire an army of people to run things and the fact we've been left with a lame duck CEO for 10 months shows how much of a fuck they give about this "project" @McCormick might be able to give us an idea of how visible we are in Saudi but my guess would be it's somewhere between fuck all and zero.

The bit in bold is what I was getting at. "participation" was maybe a poor choice of words as i neither expect nor want him to be involved in day to day.

But he or, far more likely, someone directly reporting to him is supposed to keep the club leadership staffed and running smoothly and, well :dontknow:

I hope he stays. Definitely our owners should do better how to move the project forward - it feels like project is on the hold forever.

Also if he is pushing that hard for exit, PIF needs to make sure to not sell him to Liverpool. Those fu...s can't be rewarded for such crude behavior.

Also maybe it's time for them to stop paying huge amount of $ for cartel club's players. Show some balls, if you fu... with us, we will not pay for your dead wood...

I have to say through all this I've seen a particularly obnoxious side to Liverpool fans. The same ones who burned shirts for Trent now gleefully posting the exchange between Van Dijk and Isak at the cup final and citing as laying the ground work. Odious.

No, no it hasn’t. Absent them paying north of £175m that isn’t anywhere near the best option.

If he does sign for Liverpool that’ll be Ekitike choosing PSG and ending up on the bench to Ekitike choosing Liverpool and living on the bench there too.

Almost poetic

Why is somebody for AFTV being allowed to interview Bruno?

Great answer but shouldn't have happened. Media officer looks like he wants the ground to swallow him up.

Has it dawned on you that you and Green2025 coming on here as Liverpool fans pretending to be NUFC fans is just absolutely weird as fuck?

Im of the opinion that this transfer is now inevitable.

He will go. Liverpool will stump up 140m for him.

The real issue is whether we can conjure up 4 quality signings in a month. I'd say there's not a cat in hells chance.

My brother in law is going to be so smug over this. Naturally, he's not from Liverpool and has no connections to Liverpool.

“They were the first team I saw on tv so I picked them”.

Fuck off.

I can see the 'Isak money tax' excuses for us not signing anyone now.

No way Howe wants him unhappy in squad next year. I bet my last £ he’d be happier seeing 130m accepted than £160m bid turned down.

Guess it will depend if he thinks he's getting a top quality replacement.

Obnoxious and in my opinion indulgent to the point of it being nauseous. Of course there's likely some semblance of contradiction present here as not many fans wouldn't be gleeful with their club signing 5 of the world's best players in a month or so, but the way they're using their embarrassment of riches as a vehicle to look down upon other clubs and attempt to gaude other fans is repellent. Something like the landed gentry riding through a council estate mocking it's inhabitants - which is ironic given it's Liverpool and the image they like to portray of themselves.

Just tell him you're now a Real Madrid fan and ask how he feels about TAA & his puny collection of just six Champions League wins

It's not uncommon for players not to get the move they want to stay and play well.

Wanting to leave and acting like a cunt by downing tools are two very different things

100% this.

We know fuck all about the contract situation and it is guesswork. I suppose all of it is, really.

Reports range from Mitchell leaving it until the end of the season, Isak and his agent not wanting to engage in talks, us being miles apart with figures. All the way through to Isak demanding £300k a week. Which is obviously out the question here.

It seems fairly obvious he has downed tools and is one step away from going on strike to force a move.

If that is correct, then he can get to fuck. 3 years left on his deal, just won our first trophy in however long, got back into the CL and he is adored by the fans.

It’s hardly like Everton fans chasing Gordon down the street and wanting to drag him out his car and batter him

Wasn’t it just VVD saying to Isak that he’s taken the piss out of him yet again and made him look like a pub league centre half?

Maybe that was the groundwork. VVD only signs a new deal on the proviso they sign Isak. To stop making him look bad.

Yep.

Our Bin Dipper guest should know that better than most considering how Liverpool told Arsenal and Suarez to pipe down in 2013.

And they had just finished 7th with no European Football, so a weaker position that us currently.
