Can’t agree wages or get transfers over the line, almost all transfer targets have joined other clubs, submitting bids much lower than asking prices, and players generally not wanting to come to us. Pre season or not I was there last weekend and it was shocking, don’t even think Isak being there would have made much of a difference. If he wants to leave and explore let home go, bring in new faces, this will be down to whoever is available now and we are dealing with what’s left. How much effect has Amanda leaving had on the whole structure now, somethings aren’t working anymore and it’s frightening. All our targets have gone to bigger clubs, unless we’re all being naive here.

Yea, it’s clear they’re only willing to pay like £100m-£120m and want us to lower price or Isak to kick off further so we sell at that price. Can’t see either happening, as we can get that price next summer and not have to sell this late in window.

Been reported we have offered him a deal and he's not interested how good it is and when that happened at all is obviously relying on media sources which we all know are not exactly always right. KaKa
We're going to agree for him to go next year I think, with a salary bump in the meantime. The fact that even with all of this uproar Liverpool haven't tabled a bid is somewhat suspicious. They don't seem confident it will amount to much. Think we'll add a striker that can step in and do the business if he's in a sulk and moping about the place to start the season.
Kid Icarus
How many fucking iterations of If Newcastle change their stance If Newcastle open the door If Newcastle shift their position are there going to be? This is exactly the sort of media driven shit Liverpool fans rightly cry foul of when it's done to them.

And if he's really that pissed off that he has to leave then his option will be to Saudi for a year.

Paul Joyce was saying not only would they need to sell first, but we'd need to lower our asking price. Probably why Romano has been pushing the "he only wants Liverpool" narrative, to drive down the price

Yup, bastards will bid 125 last 2 or 3 days of the window take it or leave it style thinking they will get the last laugh.

Can see where this is going because I support Newcastle, but I really hope this is something that redefines who we are and we don't capitulate for literally no reason

I hate the line being reported that we wont go for Sesko unless/until Isak is going. We should absolutely go for him and Wissa before theres any official approach for Isak. If he ends up not going, then fine, he stays and fights it out with the other two (and Osula ). What we must not do, is let this drag on towards deadline day, and end up in an Andy Carroll situation, where Liverpool or anyone else makes their move, and we have no time to replace him. We either move for replacements before he goes, or set a deadline to him and his agent, that if there's been no acceptable offer by a certain date, then he wont be sold this season, regardless of what he wants. Probably why Romano has been pushing the "he only wants Liverpool" narrative, to drive down the price They're taking ages to make any further sales. The time to strike would have been now after Isak stayed back and stated he wanted to leave, and it all blew up. The longer they wait if they have to make sales, the more hardened a stance we will likely have as there'll be less time to manoeuvre in the market. We will also be able to reiterate that to Isak, and try to convince him to go next summer instead as we would otherwise be in a precarious position. The Prophet
This is why I think Isak blew his load too early. He should have waited until next summer, but his agent is clearly in his ear.
Alberto2005
Would people prefer he signs a new deal that allows him to get his move next Summer or sell to Liverpool and reinvest this window? I'm torn, I'm not going to have the same love for him anymore after this plus will he be sulking all year. On the flip side I don't believe we're capable of getting the players in we need so a year to get our ducks in a row might be useful.
