Does seem like it would be ideal to sell Isak next summer when we’ll hopefully not be the complete mess we appear to be in terms of recruitment at the moment.

If we want to play hardball with him he’s not in the best spot, three years left on his deal means he will probably just have to sack up and get on with it this year.

I’d be quite tempted to just insist he’s going nowhere this summer and not offer him any sort of improved deal in the meantime. Sell him next summer, don’t think the market for him is going anywhere.

The counterpoint is that Eddie probably doesn’t want an unhappy player in the squad and if he really likes Sesko as the replacement and we can get it done now then maybe just make the move and get it over with.

Have a feeling it's more about us finding a replacement first.

No way we are going to let Isak go before we have.

My hunch is the isak fee has to be agreed and deal is subject to ins and outs at both clubs, stating the obvious but we can’t agree Wissa and Sesko and keep isak because we can’t agree a fee

First bid £120

Second bid £120 + 10

Third bid £130 + 10

And I'd turn every one of them down, he's irreplaceable so he commands an irreplaceable fee

They will the Saudis won't be fucked about, it will be £150 plus or he's going nowhere

This is what I think too, Yassir has made it blatantly clear he doesn't want him to go anywhere so the fee has to be irresistible, not a cut down price on what we value him at.

Agree with this not a chance we sell him for under 150 million. If they want him it’s going to cost them big time.

Despite Eddie deflecting id be shocked if anyone else is deciding other than him. He has the final say remember?

It's also reported that Eddie is in lockstep with Yassir over Isak

none of these movements would be happening without a fee being pretty clear

One worry is that £150m is the online fans' fee but the board have a different opinion, like even £130m would smash the all-time British transfer record by quite a bit.

It's certainly a big moment for the Saudi owners, though. To test how serious they are.

If they were that serious they wouldn’t be letting an asset drift rudderless and spending a shitload strengthening rivals. We’re a pocket change investment and a bottom of the list priority when compared with their Clearlake stake and the whole grand scheme around the 2034 World Cup.

Even a 5% stake in Clearlake (£60bn overall investments) is worth 10x their initial £300m in NUFC.

Before long average players will be going for that fee. So I'd ask for the most we can get.

But Chelsea to Clearlake is like NUFC to PIF, a small part of its overall investments It sounds like you are saying they are prioritising Chelsea.
