We need wissa in asap. More important than sesko at the moment.

He's more likely to hit the ground running so that sesko (if we sign him) can be Howed onto the team.

If we are selling Isak, we need both in before we sanction it.

Talk about a car crash in slow motion.

I've come to terms with isak going(although not the way in which it's played out, that has soured my view a bit), and now I just want to see us go out and secure what we need.

If we let him go without getting any signatures on contracts then I honestly don't know what is happening behind the scenes.

There's no way we let Isak go unless there's at least one striker coming in.

I know transfer fees don’t work like this and it’s a bit reductive. But Rice for £105m or whatever it was. Enzo and Caicedo around £100m. Both a couple of seasons back, weren’t they? Prices are still going up, no?! Even if the market seems less active and clubs are restricted more because of PSR.

It does then feel like Isak with 3 years left on his deal. Should be going for more than £130-140m. Even if he wants out.

It’s only really his fitness record that can be questioned. But then I also think some of that is down to our managing of him and not having a back up who is fit for most of his time here.

As others have said. There are intangibles with him and stuff that won’t appear on any stats sheet. He just has that swagger and unpredictability to his game that has regularly caused world class centre backs to look like Sunday league players.

I'd be looking at the Coutinho transfer to Barca. You're buying a complete, proven player, a unique player, and a top 5-10, potential Ballon D'or winner, just entering his prime. Not just the goals and stats, the entertainment factor and the transformational factor. Buying a top, flair striker who scores and assists clinically adds a huge premium, in most cases. We should be looking at 150 guaranteed money, add ons based on app's, goals, title wins and personal awards, bringing the likely fee to 170ish, and potential if he gets player of the year and wins a european cup to around 200mil

It’s 200m all in or no deal. Alex, here’s the best contract we can give you to reflect your value. But if you want to compete for championships I hope you realize everything you’re doing right now is counterproductive to the overall plan for all of us. Your best mates here are being harmed by you doing this. Cheers. Fuck your stupid cunt of an agent.

Diaz to Bayern, then the offer comes, and we buckle like fanny's.

I'm not sure we will. It needs to be our price and we need a replacement in first.

Personally, I'd tell him he can wait.

Apologies and don't mean to be negative but can anyone genuinely see a situation where he stays and all is forgiven? There are a lot of unknowns but all of this has been played out publicly and agent led or otherwise, he's clearly not happy with some things whether that be money, ambition, whatever.

Whats the best case scenario? Signs a new deal and there's a picture of him shaking hands with Eddie then we pretend none of this happened?

I'd be absolutely devastated if he went to them and would love him to stay but can't help feeling he's a bit tainted now.

Of course, Eddie will have to be certain that he is committed, heads in the right place and all that. If there is any doubt, I don't think he'd accept that.

Suppose it depends on how we spin it and Eddie I'm sure will be his usual masterful self if there was a press conference about him staying.

I hope I'm wrang and we somehow find a way. It just seems a long way back already.

I must say, I just don't understand why the fuck there's even any talk as to why we would accept a bid of around 120-130m. Even 150m would be an absolute joke IMO, you wouldn't see Haaland being rumoured away from City for anything close to these sums, and Isak is at worst only slightly worse than Haaland.

I really hope we stand firm as fuck on this, and demand around 200m for him, though the lack of media reports about us doing that (Luke Edwards aside) makes me feel like we're going to roll over for Liverpool and let them get him for way below what he's worth.

If he goes back to scoring goals for Newcastle, I couldn't give a fuck what has happened previously.

I think he ends up staying because we refuse to sell. It's looking like we can't get a replacement.

Best case scenario for a replacement is Watkins which would obviously be moronic given psr and his age/cost.

If Sesko goes to Manchester Reds (because Saudis bought Antony to give them money, of course), then I'd expect we'd put up the not for sale sign. There isn't anyone left with the potential to replace him. And a half-motivated Isak is better than fuck all.

Disagree. I’ll be happy he stays and is scoring but can’t forgive his apparent behaviour. Not only is he disrupting our whole preseason. He’s also not going to be up to speed and match fit for the season starting. If only PSG or Madrid would come in for him I’d say good riddance.

Ive also now got serious doubts about this injury after the cup final. I’d suggest that’s when his head started to turn

A couple of things I'd like to know.

A) Has he downed tools or has Eddie grounded him so as not to disrupt the rest of the squad?

B) The details of this promised new contract, why wasn't the review of it written in to his normal contract and who made the offer (the story I heard is that it was Staveley, maybe just a story put out to get the club off the hook) ?

I'd expect the new CEO to have a long conversation with our chairman about how the money they put out may affect adversely other parts of their empire. Even at times delaying may be enough.
