Hope he's happy watching his current team mates slog and sweat it out while waiting for the call from Liverpool.

Or maybe, he ain't watching our shitshow anyways and has LFC TV on at home.

I still think he will be here this season. Liverpool won't match our asking price and we won't let him go for anything less. By being backhanded cunts, Liverpool will fuck themselves when it comes to the fee. Not a chance we dance to their tune

I would fucking hope not. Most of us here can see it, so you would like to think the hierarchy at Newcastle ( or what's left of it) can see it.

Don’t underestimate the cartel media darlings. They’d love us to turn on Isak and hound him out, then they’d low ball bid (they have done fook all so far) and bingo job done. How could he stay in such a hostile atmosphere.

Supporters’ reactions make zero difference with any of this

Anyone else found themselves pretending to be Eddie Howe answering hypothetical questions from journalists in imaginary press conferences when asked about this situation?

Just me?

My version of Eddie Howe says motherfucker a lot.

No way we’re stupid enough to let him go, regardless of how much of a strop he throws.

He knows he’s going to need to play (well) in a World Cup year and if he wants a move next summer. Think Liverpool shot themselves in the foot buying Ekitike if the one they really wanted was Isak.

If it’s true that Liverpool are waiting for us to invite them to bid, then it’s really a calm situation because I just don’t see us doing that without a high quality replacement coming in.

agreed - far far less likely that he goes now, than it was three days ago IMHO. Interesting to see the bookies odds of him leaving softening today as well.

Ironically, it may well be our board / leadership's lack of planning and competence in it's current state that is the reason for him throwing his rattle out of the pram and the reason he ultimately ends up staying

Agreed, since the whole thing broke about 2 weeks ago there hasn’t been any real movement to be fair, it’s all just media talk keeping it going. I feel like there would have at least been a bid made/rejected by now if it was going to happen. It doesn’t make any sense for anyone involved for it to drag on.

No Liverpool journalists have said they have pulled out. We are a mess behind the scenes. Until there's some good news for fans (new signings, especially a forward), then we'll make them wait. That makes a lot of sense. Not admitting that is denying the inevitable.

Scenario B - there is just no news, good or bad. NUFC dont manage to get in replacements and it slides by to the 2nd Sept without them accepting an offer

Okay. It's all media talk. We're not scrambling for strikers. Several players haven't rejected us. Isak is injured. We're not gonna fine him for missing training. Where is the Liverpool bid? There is no bid. There is no interest. Liverpool will lose 4 forwards but Ekitike will replace them all.

Offer him 250k a week with a release clause of 130mill for next year.

Offer him fuck all.

make him play for a year on his current wage then sell him. Why reward him then cap what we can get for him? Makes zero sense

Don't see how we can sell him now with Sesko going to Man United , he is just going to have to be told tough shit you are staying till next summer . I wouldn't offer him any sort of wage increase either after he's acted the twat this summer .
