Superior Acuña
Just now, El Prontonise said: Yes there is, he's our player. I don't think him being in Spain suggests he's not our player, he's not going to be with the squad in Newcastle anyway, and this is pre-season. Kid Icarus
I don't think it's realistic to expect him to train in Benton in the circumstances tbf like. He's an absolute cunt for what he's done but having him at Benton creates a circus that we won't want just as much as he won't. People can tweet about him and photograph him in Spain just the same. In fact it makes more of a story, as we’ve just seen. Why is an empty training ground in Spain any different to one in Newcastle? Sounds alright after that clarification from Downie though. If true. Edited July 31, 2025 by AyeDubbleYoo
Dandy Man
The situation is fairly murky at best. While he and his agent are clearly stirring up some controversy, it's hard to gauge the true severity given that these football "journalists" have every incentive to amplify the drama and get some lovely engagement. Meanwhile, the club naturally wants to downplay any rift, leaving us somewhere in the middle trying to parse the reality from the spin. If Isak stays but sulks through the season, nobody wins. He also risks finding himself without suitors next summer when they've all inevitably moved on to the next flavour of the month hype machine. However, if he knuckles down and starts scoring regularly, all will likely be forgiven fairly quickly . Like most fans here, I'd prefer to see him leave for an appropriate fee, but if it's Liverpool for the fees being thrown around or nowhere, I'll take nowhere every time. Far too many places to take photos and be heard as well.

For all the feverish panic it’s still possible it blows over eventually. And we should only sell him for massive money and only when we have 2 strikers confirmed to come in
El Prontonise
I have big issues with allowing a player who's asked to explore his options to go away to recover from his "injury" without someone from nufc being there. The optics of it all are shite regarding the context of what's happened and is going on. Edited July 31, 2025 by El Prontonise

So for context: £150m sale = £111m “profit” to book (fee less 30m residual book value plus 9m to Sociedad) £140m sale = £102m £135m = £97.5m £130m = £93m
