Without going full Tin Foil Hat mode, if he's genuinely gone on strike and faked injury, it almost makes me wonder if his "loss of form" at the end of last season was a coincidence too. Had he already been tapped up then? Failing to qualify for the champions League would've been a great way to knock a few quid off his asking price, after all.

Hard not to be cynical when he's willingly fucked our pre season.

Yeah, had the same thought. If he's as uncaring, devious and manipulative as the evidence points to him being, it would be entirely rational for him to want us to have a dispiriting end to the season and a financially underpowered summer.

I don't think it's so grand tbh, obviously we don't know all of the details and never will but I think he's just put himself first and rest of it is what it is.

Aye not saying that's definitely what's happened, but if he's as determined to put himself first as he apparently is, that was the logical thing for him to do if he had a deal lined up months ago.

Part of what's odd though is he appears to have made a pig's ear out of the whole situation, for someone who's supposedly bright and calculating. There's a few things about this whole situation which don't entirely add up based on the publicly available information.

Aye canny sick of it like.

I don’t know which outcome will produce the worst on going saga….him going to Liverpool and all the media shite that’ll come with it or him staying and knowing this all starts again in January or at the end of the season.

Personally, I wish the club would take a stand and openly say that they will never sell him to Liverpool…..never ever 😂

Weve all been seeing the red flags and ignoring them, because it's better than what was before. The players weren't here for before, they've bought into this club aiming to be no1. I've not seen a thing to suggest that's the case. No training centre. No youth academy. No progress on ground. No boardroom. No communication. No spending for several windows.

They've got lucky in Howe, who theyve let down massively time again.

Enough is enough. Stop preparing, thinking, discussing, consideration, weighing up and proposing. Fucking act. Act now before isak is the 1st of many who gets sick of waiting around. Players careers are short. They aren't obliged to hang around like fans.

I agree with this.

I don’t condone Isaks actions and I’m disappointed in his conduct. It’s not right. But ultimately he’s acting in his best interests like every human does.

It’s been in the clubs best interests to ensure we don’t get in this situation with Isak and that’s failed. So I’m more upset with those meant to look after the clubs best interests than a single player with a short career.

Also for me - I think it is now likely we were always shopping for an Isak replacement. Whether that was to play with Isak this season or not - we won’t know.  Liverpool signing Etikite is the part that doesn’t make sense to me at the moment.

Would the potential suitors bearing in mind there is no bid, still want him with all the baggage he's carrying, or would that be conveniently forgotten about as long as they got their man.

Absolutely they will yeah. End of the day he's one of the best strikers in the world.

If he's capable of downing tools now, what makes him incapable of downing tools in the last few games? Even if it was just to avoid injury ahead of a possible move.

That's not "cope", it's applying a gained-perspective now that we've learnt that he has that in him.

Yep, agree. But that doesn't mean he did. Lovejoy said Isak had downed tools at the start of last season, that's just rewriting history for a player who was out of form.

I definitely think there been some communication gaps.

Like with Kane. There was a gentleman’s agreement that was reneged on. Then made clear he wouldn’t leave unless a certain value was hit and more likely from abroad. Communication was there but basically lies were told and contracts stuck too.

We’ve no idea what’s happened here.   It seems like Isak said he wanted to leave early on and perhaps due to a lack of leadership we never came back with a solid reply.  I don’t know obviously.

It would be forgotten because they’re arrogant enough to think the baggage won’t apply to them

Incredible really considering I can't think of a club it's happened to more. Their own homegrown players gave done similar multiple times.

SSN showing a line up of Liverpool’s team next season featuring Isak - wankers. They’re all desperate for him to move there aren’t they?

Given up watching SSN, lost the ability to tolerate it. It's just become awful viewing for the average football fan when the transfer window is open, especially that silly little cunt who takes an ice age to say a sentence.

That banner isn't going to help hopefully someone removes it

I wouldn't even think it's certain that a Newcastle fan did that. A lot of opinions have been expressed but I've not heard anyone express such a daft opinion.

Possibly a mischievous individual who supports a club who seem obsessed with the Izak situation ?
