At a point now where I doubt there's a way back for him.

This opinion is so fucking stupid. You know nothing and only base it on speculations and feelings.

How about you wait until there is anything official from club or player first?

If we hear nothing from either party, he stays here and joins training/match when fit, then what? Bridge burnt for him because the media were mean to us?

Not really any need for that is there.

SSN showing a line up of Liverpool’s team next season featuring Isak - wankers. They’re all desperate for him to move there aren’t they?

It’s ridiculous. Talksport YouTube videos are just full of thumbnails of him wearing their kit.

Get it in writing, or risk it never happening. And if the people you're dealing with won't agree to put it in writing, ask yourself why that might be

Verbal agreements might well be legally binding, but proving them in court ain't so easy

Agreed. And so without a recourse to court, you might seek satisfaction another way.

My guess is that the owners have told him that he won't be moving this summer and they mean it. If he effectively goes on strike they'll stop his wages and face whatever legal action might transpire. Whatever the hit might be, they're prepared to take it.

That's a tough road to go down, but there are also consequences to giving in to this form of behaviour. All power to them.

The two things can both be true btw and even if none of this Liverpool shit had happened this summer I would still have been concerned regarding his overall fitness going into this season.

Whatever that groin problem was last few years it has dogged him for a long time.

You can come up with whatever "downing tools" conspiracies you want but he has clearly been plagued with a nagging injury which affects his game.

You can tell when he's not affected by it because he looks incredible. The Arsenal cup games the perfect example.

He was playing injury free at that point and looked fast and explosive.

Switch that to any of those games post missing that league game against Liverpool and you can tell he could barely sprint and it affected his overall game and he was playing at about 50% because of it.

I don't think a few weeks off was enough to clear that issue and I think we should have been looking at the surgery option to try and resolve it long term.

But if he was leaving anyways then fuck him and I hope it plagues him for the rest of his career undiagnosed. [emoji38]

We literally have no idea what’s gone on.

Think its just a crescendo of a few different factors, or at least it is for me.

General state of football.

PSR.

Cartel.

Isak's apparent behviour.

Slow movement on aspects of the club not impacted by PSR.

Poor executive management.

When a football club, rightly or wrongly, is so intrinsicly ingrained in who you are it can be difficult to switch off and employ logic.

Purely speculation, but I was thinking that maybe one of his issues is that he himself feels his injury is a lot worse than the medical staff are making out. No reason to go on like he has, mind.

if all these shady thing about his agent are true, I bet he would expect a large fucking sum as agent fee in this transfer. something like 10% of the total fee easily. I am sure we had to hand over a few millions to him when we got him from Sociedad too and that was based on a 60m transfer not a 150m one.

so a 15m agent fee is the minimum imo Liverpool can expect on top of any fee Newcastle want.

To be fair the silence from both the club and the player tells you everything. If this was all bullshit, if he had been given permission to train at real sociedad (or however you spell it) then the press would have been very quickly briefed.  He has downed tools and took a huff which for me is unforgivable. I knew he would go at some point but doing it this way is just disrespectful and to be honest Cuntish from Isak.

Exactly.  Plus this is how Liverpool always poach EPL quality players.  They brief the media then sit back and watch the media turn the players fans against him so that bridges are burnt and Liverpool step in on deadline day with a lowball offer.

They needed more than one forward, is all it comes down to I think. I imagine Ekitike was always a target for them, regardless of Isak.

I know Liverpool have money but £80m for a player to sit on the bench?

even for Liverpool I thought that would be a £50m player max. Ramos, Wissa.

Unless its Eddie Howe, The Ruben's or the Chairman that made any promises and they arent in writing then he has no comeback. He can be pissed off (many players at many clubs are and have been) but realise they just have to get on with it.

Nope this seems like it is mainly on him.

We are just speculating but we need to live in the real world. If my bosses in the real world tell me something critical to my career verbally which they then renege. It’s a massive problem.  90% of business is agreed verbally.

My speculation is that we were not clear to him and have been telling the world he’s not for sale.

Without sounding like the guy in the gif. I feel like this Isak moment has more consequence than just a player going leaving to go to another. It's what it would signify.

For me it's all the stuff you listed that has made me disassociate.

If after a year of getting CL and finally winning a trophy, we have been forced to sell our best player for less than his value to us and are unable to even use that money to strengthen and move forward.

I'm not sure if I can be bothered caring as much as I have last few years. It would be close to an Ashley era apathy.

What's the point of trying to get excited about the team if we can't grow and improve due to too many forces pushing against? What was the benefit for us for finishing top 5 last year? If I didn't know any better, based on this summer it's like we finished bottom half.

Which is incredibly sad and I didn't think I'd feel that way post takeover era.

I take the pure silence from player and club that whatever is happening, there’s clear agreement behind closed doors as neither are throwing a tier one pissy fit like we’ve seen with Wissa and in past with Kane etc.

Whether that’s:

1) Both agree a sale will happen, we’re just trying to line up deals and a sale will happen end of window regardless.

2) Both agree situation that we need two in if he’s to go, if we can’t do that, he comes back as normal and moves next summer.

3) There’s clear issue with his fitness, we’re both not letting it on to the full extent as it disrupts both a potential sale and driving up prices for players we want further

Early next week when we’re back in Newcastle and training daily ahead of a home Sela Cup, I expect this to either be nipped in the bud, or taken to new levels and played out in the media fully. There 100% won’t be no greyness.

For a team that have won the league twice in 35 years, the SSN lot have such a boner for 70s and 80s legacy Liverpool.
