midds
To all posters saying 'sick off this now, get rid of him, just get it done etc'. - this is exactly what the scouse cunts want you to do. They want this to drag on so we eventually just go ah fuck it and let him go cheap. I understand the need to just get him out of the club but we have to be strong as fuck and hold on as long as possible. Giving up and accepting a lower bid just because we're bored or sick off it plays into their hands. They've got the cash so let's fucking rinse them. We saw Parish exactly this to us it's a year ago and we now do the same to this lot. I'd even make them wait a few days before even rejecting this second bid

Their fans are the most entitled wankers walking the earth. Time for us to stand up against them and tell them, if you want him so desperately, then we want everything up front. No deals. Last summer was a huge sign of that. This summer (so far) it has become even more clear to us. We seem to be going after proven players or top targets in the market, and there is no sign of a plan b yet. Sesko seems like a pretty similar signing tbh. alexf
Hate to say it aswell but in that early flurry of the likes of Trippier, Bruno, Botman, Isak etc in the first season and half. There was a lot of buzz still around Newcastle and the takeover etc and players and agents were looking at us likely as his exciting project with huge money behind it. Despite the success Eddie has achieved, it feels he achieved a lot of it in spite of the increased wealth not because of it. It has became patently clear to most that are paying attention that there is far too many hurdles put in our way for us to be the next Man City or Chelsea and I think that means it's proving more difficult to sell the project to prospective players. Could be wrong but that's how this summer feels to me.

Barnes23
What will be lost in the broader narrative and maybe even on this forum to an extent is that even if we hold out for £150m and end up receiving it, we will still have let him go on the cheap. One of the few levers we have in any negotiation (incoming or outgoing) is payment structure. We don’t need ready cash it’s just the artificial PSR accounting that restricts us. Telling Liverpool we want it all up front would be at least be us exercising some power in this transaction.

Sustainable success is to a large extent results dependent. It doesn’t preclude the occasional investing for now signing. The occasional investing for now signing, say when you have Champions League and a solid foundation to achieve a third top six finish, is sensible to ensure the right results. If he had an acl or whatever we'd just have to get on with it and make do until he was available again, we'd survive, wouldn't be pretty but we'd get by. But we most certainly aren't rolling in it from a PSR point of view and most definitely need to not go into the season with a player who doesn't want to be here and who's massively pissed off (some of) his teammates and staff. I don't see any feasible way for him to still be our player by the end of the window and for it to go well. 3 minutes ago, TRon said: Then we keep Isak. It's Liverpool's problem not ours. Mattoon
This is Liverpools last power play, unsettle Isak further, put the club into scramble mode and get the supporters rounded up with pitch forks, they want to force the move by hook or by crook, we hold and we knock back every effort to dislodge him, he's our player, contracted to us and we have no replacement.
