Genuinely think that £110 million bid was a huge blunder.

It's going to have Isak wondering what the fuck Liverpool are doing!

Has to put some doubt in his head about the efforts they are making to actually sign him, especially after he's put himself in a tough spot with kicking up all this fuss.

Just crazy.

It will also make other players wary when then tap them up in future.

If we accept the premise that he's been badly advised, then sacking his agent must be part of the fence mending.

I don't think it will be to long before someone mentions the fact that Shearer was looking to move to Liverpool when Gullit was manager.

I was kidding of course. Verbal bollockings are generally far more effective anyway. Violence is just a way to put grudges in cement.

i refer to my anecdote as to how it should be approached. Bridges should not be burned at all.

Correct.  Bridges should be blown up with a horde of explosives while you piss on the faces of your enemies and smite them with your wrath.

Aye, I don't condone violence either *wink wink*

We should definitely let Lascelles, Big Joe and Botman give him a non-violent *wink wink* bollocking.

If there is no further Liverpool bid then the players leadership group need to have a chat with him about how that club has absolutely fucked him over.

 why does everyone always want an apology? I don’t give a fuck if he says sorry, as long as puts in 100% while he’s our player.

I am basing this on the rumblings that some of his teammates are unhappy. I don't think he should apologize to the fans and there's almost no way that would land well anyway. But he needs to mend things with teammates if there is an issue.

And I wouldn’t  blame Shearer at all.  Gullitt was an absolutely brilliant player and talked a lot of sense as an analysis, but he was both fucking arrogant, and also probably didn’t ever realize that only generational players had his talent.

Eddie Howe is a generational manager for us, and is a far far superior coach, tactician, man manager, and just a more self reflective person than Gullitt ever could be. And I worshipped Gullitt when I was growing up.

oh shit that’s right. It was under Robson. But what does that have to do with Shearer’s comments? He I never mentioned loyalty or anything. Shearer’s point stands.

The dude who commented back just demonstrated that he doesn’t know what ironic actually means.

The whole saga makes so little sense, even more so if you include the Ekitike chapter.

You are remembering it wrong. Shearer almost went ti Liverpool (allegedly) when Robson was manager (2003) not Gullit

it’s different. Liverpool does have PSR headroom but they don’t have the cash on hand. They ain’t PIF. They need to raise funds by selling players first. They simply couldn’t offer that much upfront fees after Wirtz and Ekitike deals.

Newcastle on the other hand is troubled by PSR headroom that even Newcastle has unlimited funds it’s limited by PSR.

So if that's the case why not just wait till after selling more players and then just bid the £150 million.

What the hell was the point of the £110 million bid that has now made them look completely stupid?

For what its worth i don't want an apology, that shows weakness

Tripe. Real strength comes from owning mistakes and still being tremendous, not being some macho fuckwit who doesn't show culpability for being a little rat.

I don't care if we hear the apology but he should be sucking up to his teammates something fierce next week.

What rumblings? There's been one report indicating that some players had tried to convince him to stay, and that he didn't want to. Most likely bullshit.

He shouldn't mend anything unless something factual comes out that he's been trying to engineer a move away. Not to players and especially not to feral fans who has spent the last week or two making up scenarios in their own heads where the situation has beccome progressively worse and worse without really knowing fuck all.

If he starts the first game for us and nobody within the club (including himself) has said anything about him leaving, he deserves the benefit of the doubt and be cheered as any other of our players.
