Yeah the non PL release clause is the obvious move, put it in to be activated before 30th June and spend freely this summer in the knowledge that he will probably go in this financial year. 
 

Saying that, he will probably get injured or have a shit season, nobody will want him and we will end up having a PSR flap again

I don't think they're as keen on him as is being reported. Probably because of the injuries he picks up and how he fades late in games or something or the other.

it’s different. Liverpool does have PSR headroom but they don’t have the cash on hand. They ain’t PIF. They need to raise funds by selling players first. They simply couldn’t offer that much upfront fees after Wirtz and Ekitike deals.

 

Newcastle on the other hand is troubled by PSR headroom that even Newcastle has unlimited funds it’s limited by PSR.

I feel we have been the subject of an organised effort by some of the big six to destabilise us, going for our targets after we have done all the groundwork on deals and have bids accepted and publicly courting our players, even going so far as to turn them against us in the case of Isak. All seemingly because they can see the black and white monster looming larger and larger in their rear view mirrors.
 

Our owners simply cannot yield to such bullying. If anything it should strengthen their resolve to succeed, and I’m hopeful it will.

 

This - always this - there is no way in hell Yasir as head of SA PIF would be seen to lose face, it would be an insult to the whole Kingdom. I expect there will be some oil poured on troubled waters and Isak will swallow his pride for 1 more season - caveat (I hope).

Injury certainly possible, but the bold bit is why we don't need to worry about him getting his head right for this season if we 1) pay him better 2) give him an out but one that requires him to perform highly. Alex, go be one of the leading scorers in the CL this season and you will get whatever move you want.

I think this played out beautifully, Liverpool came waltzing in, presuming they'd done enough damage in the press to make Isaks stay here untenable and got the door heavily slammed in their face.

 

Whack a heavy contract on the table (we can take the PSR hit for one season) with a buyout clause, as mentioned, to any non-PL team and tell him to play his way into one of Barcalona, Real Madrid or PSGs thinking, tell Liverpool to never darken our doorstep again and give Isak a heavy, heavy incentive to score against Liverpool, per goal bonus and bigger cash dollop if we also win.

I think they were roundly told he's not for sale. He is not going anywhere unless we get two quality replacements in and I can't see that happening.
