It wouldn't be an issue to just do all of our spending in this financial year and sell him in the next one. It's a 3 year cycle after all.

Obviously involves a degree of risk as if Isak were to get seriously injured the price could be impacted.

Again, not that simple as PL has introduced squad cost ratio for this season limiting our spending on player cost to 70% of revenue. The gamble will be on how high our revenue can become if we go deep in the CL for example. I think whatever happens we cannot have let go of Longstaff, Kelly and Wilson without a succession plan (ideally an upgrade) in place for each of them. It’s imperative we strengthen CB and CM imo, alongside CF (a Wilson replacement if Isak stays, and someone to replace Isak too if someone pays at least what we want for him in order to enable us to do the above).

A lot of work left to do with only four weeks left. Also integration will need to happen while the season is underway, which is far from ideal. Fair to say it’s been a clusterfuck of a window so far. No way it can end this way…

Squad cost hasn't passed the vote as of yet.

I find it so cringey the journos having pops at each other on twitter. Just says it all about their profession, get out and get a new career as the media is in the gutter. Can't be enjoyable.

Would annoy you tho Keith getting out to the training ground and as he says doing the leg work and ben just tweets it from his bedroom and that’s his job done

That bit of news passed me by. Great news for us and all the more reason to sell Isak next year as that will ensure our revenue next season will be inflated when it needs to be, no..?

It makes sense on specific circumstance.

If he only wants to go to Liverpool and he's aware Liverpool aren't willing to pay the going rate (I actually think the going rate should be way north of 150 personally).

When you look at it through that lens it makes perfect sense. Everyone else has spent up reducing the bidding. It can work out for the player too as as a lower fee might allow him to demand higher salary /bonuses.

I think he's more chance of guaranteeing the move if he tells us first thing. Would allow nufc to organise their recruitment around the strikers department.

Seems like a risky move to bank on your tantrums being so disruptive that a club short on strikers will sanction your move and go into the new season with potentially 0 or 1 options in that position. I'm not saying it won't work, but it's risky.

I agree with your point re: lower fee, higher wages if that's his game, but he's risking looking like a right twat come the end of the window of it all goes wrong.

We still need revenue, regardless but under the current rules we can book the sale in the next financial year no issue.

Does a wantaway striker who feels he’s underpaid start turning up on a bicycle? No, he turns up in a G-Wagon - perception, yeah

Should have arrived using Blue Line taxi service and got dropped off at the main gate

Would love to be a fly on the wall for his chat with Eddie today; no matter what’s happened you would hope Isak has got a ton of respect for Eddie, and hopefully Eddie can work his magic and convince him to stay another year

Metty from Callerton Parkway to Four Lane Ends and then walk down to training ground in the pissing rain for maximum poverty impact

I don’t think so. The revenue from the sale will be booked in the year of the sale. Obviously with the three year rolling thing the benefit of that carries forward, but if SCR gets introduced for 2026/27 a summer of 2025 sale of Isak will not help us meet that 70% target (assuming we manage to qualify for Europe again), whereas a July 2026 sale would. Or am I missing something?

The BBC transfer thread this morning is horrific like. Just people supporting Liverpool's behaviour and even posts from fkn Sunderland man. Apparently we're doing exactly the same with Wissa. Not sure we unsettled the player mind. Offering a bid to his club is hardly the same as getting into Isak's ear for months. The fkn people's club are just a bunch of thirsty cunts imo.

I might have made up the people's club bit but you get my gist.

If it's just Eddie and Isak at the ground hopefully he just gets him doing laps of the training ground for 8 hours as a punishment

Or 20 minutes with Tindall with the gloves on. No head guard.

If he does, his pocket will be lighter then by a few hundred thousand

Is it feasible that if he continues to miss training, we fine him so much that that we can finally afford Mbappe?
