The BBC transfer thread this morning is horrific like. Just people supporting Liverpool's behaviour and even posts from fkn Sunderland man. Apparently we're doing exactly the same with Wissa. Not sure we unsettled the player mind. Offering a bid to his club is hardly the same as getting into Isak's ear for months. The fkn people's club are just a bunch of thirsty cunts imo.

I might have made up the people's club bit but you get my gist.

Think it's mersey blues that brand thenselves as "the people's club." Your cunts comment still applicable.

The last 2 days all I've seen on Twitter is Liverpool fans desperate to draw a false equivalence between Isak and Newcastle with Wissa or even Gordon when we signed him to justify their behaviour and long line of tapping players up.

"Ashamed of nothing, offended by everything" as the phrase goes.

Its funny how aghast Liverpool are with our owners, yet dont feel the same way with Saudi buying their cast off mistakes or judge Alexander Isak for coming here in the first place and being paid with blood money.

Im sure they use uber and Facebook too - also supported by Saudi. And the cars they drive.

The hypocrisy is deafening.

I bet Isak expected Liverpool to come in with a proper offer before this week ad close the deal so he can avoid coming back to training to face Howe, Tindall and the squad.

I'd imagine Isak knows Liverpool will be coming back with a proper offer. They're probably just waiting on PIF gifting them £70m for Nunez first. They'll be back with £130m or more.

That's a great way of trying to keep him.

It’s up to him to make up to us, not the other way around. He’s been disrespectful and, as of now, Liverpool are about 40m at least away from getting a deal over the line.

If I’m Eddie, I’m making my door 4 ft shorter so he has to crawl into my office on his hands and knees.

Surprised EPL clubs haven't kicked off over some hypoteical scenario where we are happy for Isak to go for £150m+ (because Isak isn't renewing in any circumstances), but Liverpool can't afford it without selling someone. No-one wanting to buy Nunez, step forward PIF to buy, so Liverpool can then pay Isak £150m+ fee largely upfront, so we get what we want via some PIF support.

Gotta question how determined they are to get him with the lowball offer

Worth a try from their perspective, they will be able to come in higher once they offload Nunez which looks likely this week.

I don’t think so. The revenue from the sale will be booked in the year of the sale. Obviously with the three year rolling thing the benefit of that carries forward, but if SCR gets introduced for 2026/27 a summer of 2025 sale of Isak will not help us meet that 70% target (assuming we manage to qualify for Europe again), whereas a July 2026 sale would. Or am I missing something?

The proposal for squad coat has sales amortized over 3 years iirc.

I think he's more chance of guaranteeing the move if he tells us first thing. Would allow nufc to organise their recruitment around the strikers department.

Seems like a risky move to bank on your tantrums being so disruptive that a club short on strikers will sanction your move and go into the new season with potentially 0 or 1 options in that position. I'm not saying it won't work, but it's risky.

I agree with your point re: lower fee, higher wages if that's his game, but he's risking looking like a right twat come the end of the window of it all goes wrong.

That ship has sailed

Doesn't matter. Let's be honest he isn't staying. Maybe we get this season but I'm pretty sure there are fake injuries  ahead and strolling around the pitch

Just talking about this with lad at work there, and we got on about Nunez to Saudi, potentially giving these the extra for Isak.

However, he then reminded me that the Saudi transfer window is open longer than our, is that right?

So what if the Saudi/PIF owned club don't pursue Nunez till after our window has closed?

Liverpool then have to decide whether to proceed or stick with Nunez alongside Ekitike?

Could be a nice way for PIF to screw them over one way or another? :dontknow:

He won't stay if we sign proper replacements.

In this window, that hasn't looked particularly likely.

If he stays, I suspect it'll be due to incoming transfer incompetence on our part.

Oh I don't think it's a reflection of how determined they are, more a reflection of how much brass neck they have, thought they could rock the boat hard enough that we'd roll out the red carpet for their derisory offer to end the misery. Played all through the press on purpose, every single soundbite carefully constructed to create the perfect plausible deniability and the most havoc.

I don't think we have the people in place to make signings this window. It's like amateur hour.

Sounds fanciful at best. Not really believable given PIF love of overpaying for players from the PL.
