But Liverpool aren't offering us Isak money, the're pissing about with £110 and £120. Fuck them

No offence but I don’t know why people keep saying this. They’ll obviously come in higher

If we keep him and try sell him in June clubs will have us over a barrel

Yes, potentially. But we don't know what will happen between now and then. He's on a 3 year deal so that barrel isn't exactly indestructable.

If it wasn’t for BDB’s rocket header it wouldn’t have been the winner! Team effort it was. Whether he stays or goes I won’t let that take away the amazing result that day ever.

BDB can forever be the winner in my reinvented memory.

He was the winner that day anyways - him and all the other Geordie lads involved.

Absolutely won at fucking life there though BDB in that 1-0 win. Bullet header for the winning goal AND a clean sheet for his boyhood club.

Surely its a case of covering his arse with the value side of things. He can't just say hes a cunt I want rid and we will take what we can get

Potentially, but "I want him to return" is quite a definitive thing to say. Also, if it was true we could just...not sell him.

I'm not criticising Howe or anything, I'm just confused a bit. The whole thing is a bit exhausting

Really limits what we can get for him tho. Clubs will know we are PSR desperate

Are we surely PSR desperate next summer? Unless we actually pull off a few more colossal buys, then I expect it in 2027, but not necessarily next year. But that would require spending a hell of a lot more. If we aren’t desperate for July 1, 2026 then there is no reason to rush selling him now unless it’s well over 150 million.

I get the rotting in the reserves thing but it's daft and never going to happen; it's not an option. If he stays, he has to get reintegrated and the reasons why are so obvious they're not worth stating.

However, reintegration seems totally impractical at this point and the squad/season will suffer for it. That's why he has to go.

No way back for him. Reading between the lines he’s burnt his bridges here

Only one route back. Liverpool fail to deliver the gold bullion. Then he is so back.

Whether he is covering all his bases or not, he absolutely should have approached it like this. I’m not for looking for a replacement at all, unless it’s the extremely unlikely scenario that Isak gets benched rather than sold.

But given our inability to even do that, then Howe should absolutely publicly leave the door open to Isak. What else should he do?

I'm not saying he should do anything else, or criticising him, I'm just personally confused by what to take from it all.

Realistically we're almost certainly going to sell him, but we should be really difficult about it. He and Liverpool have taken the piss, we should be returning the favour.

Telling Liverpool to go fuck themselves does have some value besides feeling good for doing it. They are less likely to try to shake the tree and hope our best players to drop out in the future if it we don’t budge, and possibly even punish them for it by shopping him to other clubs later on.

He wants to leave and he doesn’t want to be with the squad, train or play for us again. Howe was being tactful in his interview.  He needs to go but he’s put us in a weaker negotiating position with Liverpool

Very exhausting.

What I took from what Howe said was that there is a path back for Isak if he wants it, but if he or the team aren't ready then it won't happen.

I think that's a masterstroke personally.

Have to remember - your Dan Burn's and dare I say it - your Bruno's and Joelinton's will all be fucked off with him. I suspect Joelinton as much as anyone after Howe has been disrespected and helped him resurrect his career in a place he now calls his second home.

Re reintegration I think people are maybe overlooking how much subconsciously they would love to tell themselves this was all a mistake and salvage the situation. The moment he started scoring/playing well a lot of people would overlook everything, we've seen it countless times within our own fanbase never mind elsewhere.

Extreme example but how many times did our fanbase think 'maybe he's learned/changed' at the first opportunity about Mike Ashley before finally realising it was always hopeless forever?
