He sits it out, 1 month, maybe 2 months. How long will he want to not play?

If he’s given a game and half arses it , let him play u21 til his contracts up at what 28 years old, I’d be happy with that outcome

If he stays think he’ll play but I think there will be games at the back end of season where he’ll look half arsed and these wee niggly thigh and groin injuries will be extended

They haven't "played a blinder" they've tried their hand on a player they want but they won't get him. The only positive they'll get out of this is he won't be scoring against them a week on Monday, hardly a blinder.

These twatter posts just tell us that Liverpool are absolutely desperate. Isak's had his tantrum today through client journalist Ornstein, so they don't really have any leverage left. I think they'll make a slightly larger bid, with the plan that he hands in a transfer request once that's rejected. Then they'll make a third bid, again slightly higher, in the hope that the pressure is too much. That's the only play Liverpool have left at this point, but a transfer request loses its value when you've already done it through a joirnalist. Can Liverpool afford to let this rumble to the last few days of the window? You'd think they'd want time to get an alternative in.

It also suggests that they can't afford to pay £150m for Isak. Or just don't think he's worth that.

What they've offered so far is a piss take, and from that starting point it seems unlikely they'll get anywhere close to a deal so they are just hoping we capitulate somehow.

Only this time we'll have a competent replacement in Wissa instead of a walking corpse up front.

They blew their chance of signing Isak by signing the player we had earmarked as his replacement. Think they thought we'd just roll over and take £110m.

Reckon Liverpool would sooner have got Isak or Ekitike?

It’s all hypothetical but I think he will go because of the type of manager Howe is. He won’t want Isak sulking and distracting the squad. Even if he doesn’t go Liverpool are sorted and will pick him up cheaper next season. Maybe played a blinder was the wrong phrase but they’ve certainly made sure it’s lose lose for us

I think players are often reluctant to put in formal requests because it doesn't actually mean anything in reality and could forfeit the remaining payments of their signing on fee.

This is correct. Nothing in it for them.

Mind on this occasion, I think IF we were to agree a fee with Liverpool we would be within our rights to insist on a transfer request (and forfeiting of bonuses) as a suitable pennance for his behaviour as a condition of signing off on the transfer.

See how much he wants his dream move then 🙄

Howe has already said it's not just up to him, which suggests the owners might not let Isak go for a cut price deal to Liverpool regardless of what Howe would prefer.

I can understand players wanting to play in London, it's as glamorous as England gets, but Liverpool! It’s a fucking dump full of inbred people that talk funny. At least Geordi sounds cool, and has a rollercoaster in a shopping mall. What's not to like?

Have you not been to the metro centre since the 90s? 😂

If Liverpool had put a sensible bid in early in the window, he'd be there now. They're now panicking because if they don't get him, they probably do need another forward, so they need to know one way or the other soon. It's lose lose for us, but I think they'll either end up paying far more than they might have, or just won't get him at all and will have spent all summer wasting their time on it too. Seems like they assumed we'd have rolled over ages ago.

It’s a shame we’ve exhausted most if not all replacement options. Would love to sell him and buy 3 or 4 top quality signings with the money

It’s exactly like that clip from talk sport where the mackem rang and pretended to be a toon fan and kicked off about not needing to sell players in a high pitch mackem accent

New Scouse narrative "hE isn't sAfE tO wALk iN nEwCasTle city cEnTre. FrEE IsAK!"

They are vindictive enough to walk away an try and get him half price in January. Seems from press reports Isak is just as Vindictive to sit out til then too. Hopefully we find a suitor outside the PL to ship him off to this window. Seems best case scenario.
