Didn’t Liverpool want Gordon last summer after we actively explored selling him to them?

Seems it upset him a bit but there was nothing even approaching the sort of carry on we’ve seen from Isak from Gordon last year, when he probably had far more cause to be upset.

He’s just the modern footballer who wants to win things, has zero connections to the area / club beyond the superficial and has a twat of an agent who wants his comish. Yes, he’s been a twat but don’t take it personally. Have no doubt Gordon would do exactly the same if Liverpool wanted him.

He did no such thing last summer.

Is Isak a sociopathic loner? He could have left on good terms (which we were largely prepared for), but to burn bridges with pretty much everyone at the club and all the fans, supposedly sell his house, going on strike and behave like an absolute twat suggests either some severe personality flaws or someone who is extremely naive.

If he has indeed sold a house, he must have had a guarantee from Liverpool, surely?

You're right, but only on the clubs terms, not his or Liverpool's. I just can't see him leaving this summer. First obstacle getting in two strikers with the  quality required, and second, Liverpool then paying our valuation

It was definitely one of the options we looked at to solve our PSR issues, that was widely reported and also suggested as one of the reasons his performances didn't match the season prior, but he always seemed to handle himself professionally. If he hadn't, Howe just wouldn't have picked him.

Nah. It’s more than that. It’s not even a matter of expecting him to behave in a morally correct manner and respect the club and coach which put him on the map. He has a contract which he signed. If he’s not happy then negotiate - it’s clear Eddie would never want an unhappy player.

He hasn’t sold a house. Where’s that coming from? He has a rental that he gave his notice on a few weeks ago.

Sounded like he was going to move house no matter what

Yeah he’s been a twat. You shouldn’t take it personally for him wanting to leave though.

Heard last year from a really reliable source that Isak was at a party in Las Vegas and offered cash to at least two swedish girls to have sex with him.

”How much do you need?”. They declined the offer.

Of course not really relevant to all this but I guess it says something about him as a person.

I don’t get the (We can’t find a player to replace Isak) Narrative

As mentioned a few times , we have 8 billion people living on this planet

We should have a super charged scouting network to unearth gems

Brighton signed Baleba for £23m and now asking for £120m

Lots of very talented players all over the world that just need a chance

Bring two very promising young players in,  as well as Wissa and trust your judgment

Bargains to be had if you look hard enough !!

Because if we’d signed Baleba he’d barely have played so would be worth about £23.5M.
Same for a young CF. We’re not a club that gives game time for players to develop ‘on the job’. They have to prove it in training for approx 6-9 months before getting a sniff.

Surprised he wasn't waiting for them to invite the offer.

He just has quite a weird body for football and low stamina IMO. I don’t think he’ll ever to be able to play a good 90 minutes, he really drops off noticeably around 55.

Not such a problem if you can bring another £90m striker on I guess.

It's weird because that body type should mean his stamina is exceptional.

This is very amateur assessment, but maybe he gets a bit battered by the physical and explosive nature of the game. I don't know, but for some reason he's usually finished about 55-60 mins. Maybe he mentally runs out of the will to chase around as well, since he doesn't always get enough of the ball.

interesting enough, just ran the #s this morning he scored something like 70% of his goals last season in the first half.  Only scored past the 60th minute 2x all season.

Yeah, I've never been bothered to research it but it checks out. Also doesn't feel like that has changed much, if at all, since he arrived. Which is quite interesting in itself given Eddie usually transforms every player into a beast.
