where’s this?

I won't link to give them the clicks but if you Google "isak 100m" the top result is a This is Anfield article from yesterday citing 2 Daily Heil journalists saying he was "under the impression he could leave for £100m or more"

Liverpool fans literally have no braincells at this point. 90% of them think Howe was blatantly contradicting the club statement in his presser admitting that Isak was promised to leave when all he did was to confirm that there was talks after the season. How can so many people be like this, and they all happen to support the same club?

I mean, its come from someone 'familiar with the inner workings of the transfer industry' so it must be true.

Even some of our own fans are doing it. The level of stupidity on display is unreal

They paid £79m for an unproven striker in Ekitike. Why the fuck would we sell them Isak for not that much more.

Feels that was the diplomatic response from Howe was hinting at, in terms of if he was badly advised.

Isak does stay, getting new representation would be a "holds hands up, accept, move on in the short term".

If the outcome of all this is just that Isak's agent gets fired it would be very much:

Happy Antonio Banderas GIF

That said does feel like there'll be a final reckoning after the Liverpool game.

Someone catch me up, been at work - what’s the tldr?

Ryder asked Eddie in his presser if Isak had told him he wanted to leave before the end of last season.

Eddie more or less said yes.

Liverpool fans think this means he was told he could leave this summer.

Liverpool fans are wrong.

Brilliant from Howe as usual. Whenever he's answering these questions about Isak I just imagine a live Isak-valueometer to the side of him and it's Eddie's job to make sure that nothing he says brings that down.

So many things that he's said I don't believe but the genius of Howe in these situations is that we as fans know his true feelings/answers based on what we know about him, previous situations (Fraser), the subtext of what he says and what we've heard elsewhere, but Howe can sit there and say black is white, ensure that everything can still happen, ensure that the media have very little to use, and in the meantime Isak retains his value.

He's really a master at this side of the game.

Having to be is what is wrong with football.

Surely Isak will sack his agent if he doesn't get this move.

First he negotiated a 6 year contract with no release clause, then he promises Isak he can double his money at Liverpool if he goes on strike.

Now his reputation is in the bin and he's got nothing to show for it.

Wouldn't surprise me if the Saudis no longer offer him improved terms just out of spite. Do not try and bully the Saudis when it comes to business, especially if you're some scummy nobody football agent.

The whole "promise" argument makes no sense.  Nobody is going to make an informal promise to a player that he can leave at the time of his choice to the club of his choice, for whatever transfer fee is offered, and whatever the situation is at the club with regard to replacements.

It seems like Isak told Eddie (or Mitchell or Stavely or Ashworth or whoever) that he wanted to leave and whoever it was probably said something noncommittal like "Ok, we'll see what we can do" and he took it as an ironclad unconditional promise.

If I were Isak I’d be fucking raging at my agent if this doesn’t come off for him. Absolutely fucked it.

Needs to look at himself first, then his agent and then Liverpool for buying his replacement and lowballing. He’s probably in the first stage of grief right now so won’t be able to think clearly for some time yet
