I’d like to think any club official at the game on Monday would tell Liverpool it’s an emphatic no and don’t bother bidding. I think we’ll all be glad when the window is shut till January anyway

Yes thinking about it, the Isak statement has probably only hardened our stance. If Pool were to bid on Monday as Supertoon has said it’d only piss us off even more given his disrespectful it would be. I agree about the Tuesday bid, probs one last attempt.

Would be a case they knew they would do that, but kept it dragged out with Isak/agent so it definitely meant he wouldn’t play.

With Isak, he’s essentially just said ‘I am going and I want to go to Liverpool’.

It’s really messy. He’s obviously got his reasons but I would hate it… hate that he thought I wasn’t good enough for him to play with me. It wouldn’t happen in the changing rooms that I was in.

You’d maybe let it go once or twice. But the way this one has gone on is too far. I actually think the senior players, the leadership team, should go to the club and say they don’t want him around. It’s killing the squad; the way he is behaving is so selfish.

Football is a job sometimes for these lads, no more than that. He’s not from Newcastle, he’s not a Geordie, he’s just thinking about his next move and how he gets to his dream – winning the Champions League or whatever it may be."

I’ve seen this take a lot from certain ex players but nearly zero of them have addressed that it would leave us with no strikers, which is the main issue here.

In fairness, Butt’s not having a dig or thinking about it in a business sense. He’s talking in a purely emotional sense from a player and fan perspective. You can’t disagree with his sentiment there but it clearly doesn’t make sense from a business or footballing perspective. This is the nightmare we’re currently embroiled in. A situation where no outcome suits us. We either hold onto a total dickhead who doesn’t want to be here or we sell him to preserve the squad and overpay for a replacement who’s not as good.

 

This is the reason he’s fucked us, because we have no good options

It would be incredibly irresponsible for Liverpool to take any action between now and Monday, there's already far too much tension around this fixture as it is. 

 

This lot have a history of somehow managing to get hold of tickets in the home end, it's potentially going to be a very busy night for the plod and the stewards.

You’ve said it in light hearted way but I really do feel there’s something going on under the surface of why clubs have been reluctant to sell to us/top 6 constantly gazumping us. Once or twice is just a really bit of bad luck in a transfer window but I’ve never seen anything like it has been this window for us. To the point I’m adamant it’s all contrived by the way.
