Had the misfortune of coming across the The Anfield Wrap podcast talking about Isak. What an entitled, arrogant bunch of cunts these lot are.

Apparently we’ll always be a stepping stone club, Isak should take legal action, they still think he’ll sign and we should agree to 130 million because it’s meeting half way and the deal would have been done if we had a sensible DOF in place and it’s just the Saudi’s ego stopping it.

At this point I want us to string these cunts along until the deadline and then raise the price to 175 million. Make sure we’ve signed at least one striker and under no circumstances sell him to these lot.

Hopefully their left short up front and crash horribly this season. If we end this window with Isak staying and one of Strand Larsen, or Wissa I’ll be fucking delighted.

[emoji38] legal action. Whoppers.

Don’t really recall anyone reluctant to sell to us. There is no big conspiracy Man Utd can just offer far more wages than us and are a huge club even when in a mess. Chelsea also can offer far more wages and in JP case he could argue he’s just won the CWC. It’s unfortunate but just a case of going for a higher target and being up against big clubs with more spending power

I really don’t think it’s any coincidence that the two big players we have bought from within the premier league have come from clubs in a similar situation to ourselves. Brentford don’t seem keen to sell us Wissa but rumours persist that they will deal with Spurs, Strand-Larsen another one we’re being stalled on. I maybe overthinking it.

Sky Sports had some irrelevant League 1 or 2 side owner on during the week. They were asking for his thoughts about the Isak situation, he said he’d sell and get him out and couldn’t understand our problem.

WTF would he know about replacing the best CF in the league, Sky really are just filling in space at this point.

The only time I'll watch Sky Sports news again is after the window closes and we still have Isak. If he gets sold to Liverpool I'll never watch it again.

I would find Isak attempting to take legal action pretty entertaining tbh.

In my head, he's chained to a radiator like Terry Waite was. Mad Dog putting tabs out on him.

Desperate times if we are banking on Luke Edwards having insider knowledge.

On this occasion I hope he does. It's exactly the message I want sent to Liverpool.

What has Hope said exactly?

He thinks Isak's not leaving 'cause we couldn't even get one striker in three months, so we won't get two.

The Liverpool game has nothing to do with an Isak bid, so it's not true that they're waiting for after the game to bid.

If we manage to get 2 forwards in an offer of 130 plus add ons to take it closer to 150 would likely be accepted.

They haven't put in an offer yet because Newcastle won't let him go until they get someone else, which would just make the price go up. (They'd be bidding against themselves.) Like, they offer 110, we say no, they offer 120, we say no, and so on, and the price just keeps climbing. So, they'll wait until we sign some strikers and then make a bid.

He said all this on his channel a few days ago. It's probably that Isak will stay and get back in the team, and Eddie will be the key because the fans will support whatever Eddie decides.

From a Liverpool perspective what Hope said is not great, of course their media will twist some of his words etc like Newcastle will accept 130m, and miss out on the "plus add ons to get it closer to 150"

Like how Douglas and Edwards are now reporting that it may take more than 150 million [emoji38]

Tbf to Edwards his reporting on this has never changed all summer, it was always 150 to "get to the table" and based on what he said most recently that hasn't changed.

There was no cast iron certainty it would be enough. Based on what I've seen this summer though, Douglas doesn't seem to know anything.

I’m not having a go at them for it, quite the opposite, glad we are seemingly keeping him.

I think we'd already have those deals done if we'd been negotiating them earlier in the window. It’s the lack of replacements generally in the market, coupled with limited time to sort replacements which is making them difficult deals to comp, etc now.
