Liverpool are cooked either way, early days but it certainly looks like their investment this summer has been pretty poor except Ekitike. £500m spend and I'd say they're a worse team than last season.

£500m? They’ve spent about £300m and sold  £200m.

All for project ruin his career at any cost. I'd also be asking for psr adjustment, like manure claimed and see if we can grt our value back via calculation. Not be given the £150m, but added to psr and we're allowed to put it back in via owners. If that happened, he really would be fucked.

Early days but Wirtz, Kerkez, Frimpong haven't looked upgrades. Eikitike the only one who looks like it will pay off. Those 200m sales has left them with little sqaud depth.

Last night definitely concretised the loathing in a way I'm not sure I've felt about a player before. I guess it was all a bit in the abstract previously but we are now a witnessing a team giving everything, fighting an uphill battle due to the absence of a player who essentially betrayed everything they have been building together, and falling short of what they might have been.

The most frustrating part - betraying them for a team who are our direct rivals, and who we could conceivably catch as early as this season. It isn't beyond the realms of possibility, we aren't far away at all. Last night demonstrated that, as painful as it ended up being.

I don't know what the answer is from here but it absolutely cannot be selling to Liverpool (or, in my opinion, any domestic rival).

[emoji38] You're added to my list of people not to cross. It would be glorious though.

Unfortunately it's more important than ever now that he decides to grow up and start playing for us again.

We aren't realistically signing two strikers before the end of the window and with the injuries in midfield it would be useful to have the option to play 4-4-2 with Isak + New striker/Osula.

dont know how he can come back and look the warriors in the eye in dressing room after he turned his back to his teammates ad literally cost us up to 5 points possibly already. if we miss out on CL in May due to only 1/2/3/4 points or similar, it could have been due to these early strikerless run...

makes me sick to think we reward him and his agent with extra cash in return.

I can't see us selling because the money isn't much good to us this late in the window.

I think he'll reintegrate. He'll need us and we'll need him and it'll be a marriage of convenience that buys us time to replace him and to find a non-PL club to buy him.

Best thing he can do is be honest. "Look, you all know what's happened, I wanted to leave, I still do, but as long as I'm here I'll score goals". Would prefer that to some fake badge kissing shit and lying about being "110% committed".

I don't think there's any chance of the latter TBH

I said some pretty harsh words about this guy in the emotional aftermath of last nights game.

I'm alot more calm and composed right now and upon reflection.......he's still a despicable traitor who doesn't deserve the honour of calling any of our lads his teammates.

How can any professional footballer watch a game like last night and not want to hae the home crowd roaring him on like that? No amount of scarves being swayed in the Kop during YNWA will ever come close to that.

Prehaps the craziest thing of all is that he's obliterated his hero status to force a move that in the cold light of day was always a long shot.

We've been consistently unequivocal that he's not for sale for anything less than stupid money.

Liverpool look like they've won a watch with Ekitike, a cheaper, younger Isak regen and they have other glaring weak spots that need to be addressed before splurging 150m on a striker.

His actions and attitude have almost certainly put off any future suitors.

His options this summer were:

A: Sign a new deal bumping your wage to around 200k pw, further solidify your status as one of the world's best strikers by having a good PL & CL campaign with teammates you're already familiar with. Leave in the summer to one of the European giants who will likely pay you around 500k pw, Newcastle receive a revolutionary transfer fee and you leave with the blessing of the fans who adored you and will look back fondly on you, remembering you as a legend.

B: Your low life gangster bum of an agent heard that Liverpool would be willing to pay you 300k pw but they won't meet Newcastle's asking price so you try every dirty trick in the book to get the club to buckle from going on strike, leaving your manager and your supposed friends to constantly bat away questions about your from a ravenous press, to paying the slimey shills on twitter to be your mouthpiece while you hide in the shadows.

It's truly a remarkable case of stupidity and self destruction.

It wasn't until the 90 minute I started thinking about Isak.

100 percent behind the team and wondered what he must be thinking at home watching his mates give a performance like that.

I mean he must have some mates in the squad??

He was probably thinking "If I was playing, we'd be out of sight by now. Especially against 10 men"
