Best thing he can do is be honest. "Look, you all know what's happened, I wanted to leave, I still do, but as long as I'm here I'll score goals". Would prefer that to some fake badge kissing shit and lying about being "110% committed".

Remember speaking about Anelka to a Man City fan in sumer 2004 when I was working overseas and I said "you must hate seeing him in the team, representing the club after he's made it clear he wants out and doesn't care about it."

The answer surprised me, he said "no- I respect his professionalism. He doesn't want to be here and he's made that clear, but despite that he's still going out there every week scoring goals and doing his best, even if he doesn't bother celebrating them anymore."

Young, passionate, idealist me didn't quite get what he meant until the last half-season of Cabaye's stint here when it made sense. I hope I end up feeling something similar for Isak if he does stay and end up turning out for us. At the minute though it's all too raw and if we had any sort of decent cover in bis position I'd want him to rot with the u-21s for the way he's carried on.

Yes they could have picked up the injuries at any time, but you have three players coming off injured, two of those with what look to be serious injuries from giving their all and you have this cunt sat at home refusing to take part.

Yeah but at least he’s apologized. The one who’s supposed to be up front hasn’t.

apologising for the same thing on more than one occasion makes it sound somewhat hollow.

Last night was a prime example of how much of an idiot Isak really has been. Why would you ever want to take yourself out of the possibility of playing in a game like last night and for a team like us - I’ll never understand it

It’s such a short term view to kick up a fuss for a move when it’s so clear to me that we’re building something incredible here - I love our group of players

It cannot be overstated how much damage he's done to the start of this campaign, he's almost definitely cost us 3 points and there's an argument that it could be 5 lost without him. Add to that the loss of 4 players, one of which probably wouldn't have been sent off if he was playing in his corrclect position and possibly 3 injuries that could have been avoided with less pressure on the rest of the team.

Even when he comes back and starts scoring again, this will live long in the memory and ita going to take a lot of work to win supporters back.

Well, now that our representatives been there, giving assurances and apologizing for broken promises or what not, let's see if he can grow up and get back to training and apologize to his team mates and Eddie.

That cunt Jacobs pushing that Liverpool don’t want to distort the market and pay anymore for Isak.

At this point you just have to laugh at the speccy cunt.

Like they didn’t distort the market when they paid £116m for a lad who looked completely overran last night.

Going off that scale, they might be right…£190m please?

Genital Wirtz looks so far out his comfort zone, there's time yet for him to get used to the league but the first two games he's looked way off it and very lightweight, could be a very expensive flop.

Absolutely fuming with Isak and the way he has treat the club and although we will never know for definite, it does feel like he has cost us up to 5 points in those first two games.

If he apologises now and signs a new contract I will still think he is a tosser but would trust Eddie completely and if he is happy to integrate him back in the squad then that would be good enough for me. He would need to score a lot of goals to win me back over though.

Can't believe how Simon Jordan has won me over this summer

He does make a good point in that:

a.) They have spoke to him too late

b.) How did the press know they were going to speak to him? Should have been kept quiet

c.) Should tell Isak if he won't play they'll see him in court

Maybe we spoke to him earlier too, but kept it quiet?

Jim White talking about us 'trying to convince him to stay' man. The way the media keep talking about upholding the terms of a contract as if it's a favour to us is constantly maddening.

We have the power to make this cunt rot in the reserves until 2028 man. We have the ability to ruin his career, he has no hand to play beyond his value tanking. At this point that should be irrelevant vs the precedent it sets and the reputational damage by selling him to Liverpool. It's hugely damaging if they do that.

I'm more concerned about winning his teammates back. They have been left high and dry, and they won't appreciate having their season handicapped right at the start. In a campaign where the big clubs are spending bigger than ever, the last thing you want to do is give them a head start.
