In my view - only a sale to a club outside the PL is acceptable before the window shuts. We should probably accept a 130m bid from such a club. If we are forced to sell to Liverpool this week because Eddie and the team requires it - the only way to somehow save face is to structure the deal so that we can publicly say that the transfer price is +150 million. That would allow the club to claim a partial victory.

What use is £130m and no centre forward?

Buy two strikers, loan him to Saudi for a year then cash in next summer.

I know he supposedly rejected advances from there but we’ll see what happens when the deadline here passes and it’s either that or a year training alone.

He’d have to accept a move to Saudi - that’s not happening any time soon.

I think that could actually work out, but it would then rule out Isak putting his head down and actually playing another season. We'd have to be convinced that he's definitely not playing for us again before we bought two strikers. I wonder if Rueben put that to him over that meeting they had?

Basically you aren't moving to Liverpool, your choice is us or Saudi Arabia.

Is training on his own for a year at a club where he’s hated a better option?

Once the deadline to get a move to Liverpool has passed, I reckon he might reevaluate.

Just on the subject of previous player strikes, but did any of them happen at a non-top tier club with PSR pressure?

For a team with little PSR headroom, I think it makes "get rid" a more attractive option than it was before PSR.

This is probably welcome by those who benefit from PSR.

wonder if he cheered their winner.

I was in multiple places in hospitality over the course of the night, and know enough people now in and around the place who would know (and would say) if he was there.

His box was empty, certainly no sign on Level 5 or 6, so unless he happened to be smuggled into a Leazes end box, I call bullshit.

We should be the perfect club to standup to player power, mega rich owners who can stand the loss in wages / player sale etc. Plus united fan base and very talented manager, but PSR hurts us if we do… Although given the current circumstances it hurts us either way!

Personally would love to leave him to rot training on his own all year but ultimately that is probs the worst scenario given press pressure on any dodgy result or performance so unfortunately I think the best course is to get rid.

It's been what? A month and I still can't get over how monumentally thick this lad is.

It's my reluctance to think anyone, let alone him, would be this stupid, that makes me think this can't be over yet.
