I think Isak will have to stay now, especially with the news that Wissa is back training with Brentford today. 

 

With Sesko and Wissa looking unlikely, I don't think we're in a position now to buy 2 strikers of the quality to replace Isak/Wilson before the window shuts. 

 

Nicolas Jackson CANNOT be an Isak replacement. That leaves Olie Watkins.. but I just don't see either of those deals being easy or attractive to make.

Now wissa is back in training I don’t think he’s for sale anymore, we didn’t push when he was on strike and that ship had sailed I reckon.

Isak + any injury free competent striker and I’m delighted. Keeps our prized asset and allows us to plan for 2026. 
 

CB + CM key alongside, but rather us sign no-one instead of rush a signing, if there’s then room to make a play in January. Not ideal, but better than being saddled with someone we end up struggling to get rid.

We've had 12 months to plan for 2025 and that has turned into a pile of shit what difference will 12 month make apart from we wont be in the Champions league and more of our players wont be here.

 

This summer has been an embarrassing disaster if we have a poor season 2026 will be Armageddon with more players wanting to leave.

That is my big fear with the way the window is going. It is obvious we are going to struggle next season if we don't get players in so if we finish outside Europe next year who leaves next, our young full backs, our Italian stallion, our Brazilian captain?, we are then back into the middle of the pack territory and will have an even bigger rebuild required. This summer is going to be the one that makes us or breaks us for the next few years and at this point it is not looking good.

Our plans have turned into a pile of shite because of one thing, and that's Isak, we had planned to supplement him but, at the last minute, we have had to try and find a level of striker that could replace him plus the already needed Wilson replacement. All our other needs/targets will have been affected by the scrambling we're having to do for a new #1 striker.

 

If anything it's the snake's actions, and timing of those actions, that have thrown us into disarray.

Even Sunderland seem to have their back teams in order, plenty on here have. Laughed at their signings but they came up debt free, sold the players who wanted to go very quickly, decided on their budget it seems, went out and bought. The back room setup surely must be low hanging fruit and one of the easiest things to get sorted ready, should have been done a long time before the window opened.
