Looks like he’s playing behind Gyokeres for Sweden in Azerbaijan.

Elanga and Kulusevski either side.

Decent front four that. Really nice mix of abilities.

Interestingly they played a 4231 formation with Isak as SS

Would be cool to see that here sometimes with Barnes Gordon on the wing and Wilson up top

We did that the season we finished 4th a few times and it really paid dividends.

Brentford (a) and Southampton (h) in particular come to mind.

Still believe his best position would be behind a striker who can hold up the ball and take some of the attention off of him. Would allow him to have more of the ball facing goal and running at defenders where he excels

That was the role Howe had Josh King play with Wilson at Bournemouth.

Thought he was going to do the same with Isak and Wilson when we first signed Isak.

Whenever they have played together here, isak has been played left where he is wasted imo.

Yeah, when we started both, a lot of times, it was with Isak out left.

He has also played off Wilson at times too though.

That 4th placed season we went to that setup to chase games at times, when we were behind.

It looked good too.

Brentford away points to this, we were great in the second half with the 4-4-2

Nah, he’s a frontman. Just needs the ball playing to his feet. 25 goals last season up top alone.

Don't get me wrong, he's quality and more than fine leading the line.

Just feels like sometimes he's feeding off scraps in our current set up. A player of his technical ability should be touching the ball much more per game.

Even playing someone off him would help his game go to another level. I think the real issue is he seems isolated for large parts in this 4-3-3.

Hopefully with Tonali, and eventually a classy right sided player in the team, we'll see the team able to get him on the ball more consistently.

Regardless I'm not complaining if his output is similar to last seasons regardless of the style haha
