80
Just now, Aiston said: Most his chances were what he tried to create himself against 3 or 4 defenders. No creativity behind him. He kept running away from where the balls were played, which didn't help.
AyeDubbleYoo
He was making runs but they were often between 2-4 Brighton players where the ball is unlikely to come unless the midfielder is very brave.
Newcastle Fan
One of his worst games for us today.
The Butcher
Been poor all season.
buzza
I didnt think he was bad today, just the players behind him never saw his runs ir connected with him. The save from their keeper was class, unlucky for him. Ran his butt off pressing in the first half and got a couple of scraps out of the keeper and defence. Second half ran out of steam, fitness not there yet
Lush Vlad
His movement was good. Got in behind a few times. He just looked like he was playing in rigger boots. Fell over/stumbled a couple of times, his usually silky touch deserted him along with his decisiveness. Took an age on the ball a few times and the chance came and went. Should be scoring that one on one and he also looked leggy trying to reach for the ball.
Dokko
1 goal and its nearly November. New contract? Arsenal move? He wishes.
Fezzle
Apparently being lucky to get £20m in January. Can't wait for Howe to face that blame. He needs a spell without these crap injuries, the lads the second best striker in the league, be more worried when he's not getting chances
JigsawGoesToPieces
Was wearing led boots today, ran like he was in treacle, couldn't finish and looked like he hadn't kicked a ball for about 6 months

AyeDubbleYoo
Should’ve had at least a goal and assist in the first half mind. He started labouring like he has done ever since he came, but he was pretty close to having a massive impact.
Paully
He was rusty after his lay-off - a fully fit Isak puts the keeper on his arse and rounds him to tap in for his one on one!

Aye, we should run down his contract and make him work his bollocks off for an extension, not like half of Europe needs a striker or anything

But it’s not great that our number 9 and arguably best player. Is injury prone and even when fit. Is only sharp and able to keep to his levels for about 60 minutes. astraguy
I've never liked isak playing upfront on his own, he needs players to hold the ball up for him not consistent pace pace

If Wilson's not breathing down his neck, it means Isak's starting place is not on the line, which is never a healthy position for any player. Given that he's often playing when he's not 100% fit that takes even more edge off his game. Bringing in a 3rd striker who effectively isn't fit for purpose is already costing us points. AyeDubbleYoo
Do we realistically think we could’ve brought in a proven third striker though, with places one and two already being taken? You’d be back looking at a real veteran or something I guess. Unless maybe you could promise them you’d sell Wilson this summer, but even then they’d only move up from 3 to 2. Sadly Wilson played really well during the time he was likely to be sold and convinced us that he was an asset. Now it’s a very difficult problem to solve. Think we have now made a rod for our own backs committing to a youth prospect as third choice. In an ideal world Wilson is told he ain't the main man anymore and becomes 3rd choice and we have a quality second fiddle/ competition for starting. Now we are running with 2 strikers effectively one isn't far enough on the Howe journey to be getting meaningful minutes and our best striker is totally out if form. nufcjmc
I hate how Wallis and gromit Craig Hopes face looks but the one thing I do agree on is go for first 11 players when you recruit so your weaker starting 11 players become your bench. I guess had we not been in a psr world that might have happened more.

A new striker should be rotational at worst. Wilson shouldn't even be a consideration he is unreliable and once again we made a terrible mistake in hanging on to him for so long. We didn't need a proven third striker, just a promising young one who is good enough to throw on for the odd game when your main strikers are out. What i meant sorry was not getting rid of Wilson and then going for Osula means we stuffed ourselves. If Wilson was peddled or made third choice and more money was spent on a player to offer real competition or something different to Isak would have been better than how it's worked out. Right now or competition/alternative is injured and old and on the decline and soon allowed to leave on a free anyway and the kid isn't trusted by Howe to be effective yet. Well we have that, that’s why we signed Osula. Howe just doesn’t throw people in as often or as quickly as fans would.

That leaves us with one striker carrying the load who is not really suited to doing that over a prolonged period.
