I mean, I felt I covered that quite well in my post - but apparently I couldn't have given this response

We know. They don't.

We don't decide what others think of us, and others see owners with a combined net worth higher than the other 19 PL team owners, combined! Of course people that don't follow us in as much detail as we do will have preconceived expectations and opinions about us based on nothing but headlines.

I just don't agree. If us making a run for it wouldn't make headlines then the season we're currently having definitely would. The general apathy about our season is an indication that we're having the season a club like ours probably should have. We're midtable and inconsistent.

When we qualified for the CL there were no headlines, no shocked pundits anywhere.

Our current shit season is making headlines outside the UK and have pundits discussing if the owners are right sticking by Howe when Man Utd sacked their manager for performing at the same level we were.

My post was aimed at why the UK isn't doing what pundits outside the UK is doing, ending with me concluding that the only explanation had to be that Howe's English - and UK pundits never attack their own, so we're just not being brought up because of the fact that if we got brought up, they'd have to criticize Howe.

 You've got good pundits if they're asking that. Was this Norway? US and UK are doing a weird pundit share scheme and all I know about now is Arne Slot.

In general I tend to feel that our pundits are shit, but I know they're probably some of the better ones in the world  It shouldn't be that way, though, which is why I'm fairly reluctant to heap praise upon our pundits. Very, very few of our pundits are ex-players or have personal experience playing in the PL for instance. If networks bring in an "expert", it'll 9 out of 10 times be either an active manager/coach or a retired one. Whenever someone like John Arne Riise has been a guest "expert", the other pundits just spend all the time on air pointing out the lack of logical reasoning in Riise's commentary, and then having to explain why Riise is wrong about whatever he said.

Some of our best pundits are women, with Renate Blindheim being one of the best pundits in the country this season. She was the first woman in Norway to be appointed Manager of a professional men's team (at 26, she was also the youngest person regardless of gender). The appointment made headlines for weeks and had people talking about how an all male football team would react to having a manager that "shouldn't be allowed" to enter the locker room. It became perceived as a PR stunt by the general public as no matter how she performed, the team she'd taken over had already been predicted to get relegated by a landslide regardless of whether or not their manager had a testicles or not.

She then proceeded to start her time there with seven straight league wins and almost getting the, on paper, worst team in the top three divisions promoted  Needless to say, that woman fucking knows her football.

Bit of a side-tangent I went off on there, but the tl;dr of it all is that I think the biggest issues when it comes to shit pundits in both the UK and the US stems from continually turning ex-players into pundits, when ex-players for some reason has a bit of a tendency to actually not know anything at all about football

MOTD on Liverpool's first equaliser: "and the goal is being checked here for a potential offside by Luis Diaz...it's been cleared!."

Then they don't show the replay so we can see for ourselves.

Love it, always had a soft spot for Forest back to the Frank Clark days.

Insane transfer strategy and much like Chelsea, apparently taking the piss and bending or breaking rules pay dividends. Depressing as we know the minute we try it they would take the punishment to the extreme.

Just as much as chance of Man Utd winning too id say, have no faith in City putting them to the sword, Man Utd do tend to get some decent results/performances against City, even when City have been flying so it's deffo a 50/50 today for me.

Obviously hope City win 8 nil like.
