I hear Rangers fans have been their usual and caused trouble inside and outside the ground.

A timely reminder why you’d never want them or Celtic anywhere near English football.

Both sets of fans were a disgrace when visiting Newcastle in recent times.

Rangers in 2004 for pre-season had a healthy smattering of bellends. Celtic fans similarly for Shearer’s testimonial. I think they build these “Battle of Britain” games up to be some sort of validation they should be in the PL, not the North of the Border Farmers Federation.

McCoist being so overly critical of every Rangers chance. Quite jarring with how positive he usually is.

“He should be lacing that on the volley, back across goal into the top corner.”

”Don’t lean back. Get over it on the half volley and get it on target.”

”What’s he doing there?! Should have killed it dead on his chest, lobbed it over the defender’s head and volleyed it in from 40 yards.”

Lol. Butland

Rangers fan ain't he? Like most of us, always less patient and more critical when it's your own team .

He was insufferable on Wednesday doing PSG v Man City, although I gave him the benefit of the doubt as he'd been with Rio Ferdinand and Lescott all day. Then was stuck with Rio most of the day yesterday aswell, he would have been dying to give it to him

Well yeah, exactly my point.  It was almost more noticeable than listening to Carragher or Neville on comms.  When they're invariably on their club's games.

Ruben Selles looks like he could be a pretty decent coach, given what he achieved at Reading given their circumstances, and how he's started at Hull.

Sheff Utd going for promotion absolutely trounced by Hull in 18th place. The championship is total wank, no wonder the Mackems are up there, they could lose 5 straight and still be top 6.

The quality is poor but as a spectacle  for ups and downs and intrigue it's great. Probably the most interesting division in Britain and probably Europe.........but God no, I wouldn't want to be in it.

That would be great for real North football and our away support, tbf. Granted they're all horrible but Leeds, at least, are a big enough club to warrant PL participation 😂

I think all 3 would do, slightly, better than this season's promoted offerings as well. And by "better" I mean provide enough jeopardy to allow for, at least, one perennial turd to flush.

Never thought about the promotion from a northern football perspective, would be interesting to see how it plays out.

So are you saying the leagues are comparable because a similar thing happened to us once last season? This goes on weekly in that league, the quality is utter dreck and it's also the reason teams get back to back promotions when they're ill-prepared for the PL (like Ipswich last year), there's barely any difference between it and league 1. You can make a fair argument (like Madras did) that there's excitement to be had but the quality is hopeless and that was my overall point.

Quality in the Champo has been noticeably shite the last two seasons. Unless you've got an ownership willing to spunk loads of cash and change most of the side that got you up ala Forest, a lot of sides are gaanin straight back doon.
