Two of our rivals played tonight. Between them they accumulated 3 points, if it was a draw it would have been 2 points accumulated. How is Man City winning better than a draw!

Their last games are very easy on paper. That’s why!! Keeps Villa some distance away too.

For those keep asking:

Man City have got Wolves (H), Southampton (A), Bournemouth (H) and Fulham (A).

They're not gonna drop any points now, so we need to stay ahead of Chelsea (who we get to play at home) and Villa (Who lost tonight potentially putting us 5 in front if we beat Ipswich).

Villa have a relatively easy fixture list but if we win our home games they can't catch us and Chelsea have the toughest run in of all of us.

Man City winning tonight puts us in pole position for top 4 and now with a cushion.

From the villa forum:

’Absolutely crushing. Knew Disasi would totally **** up going to full back. I can’t get my head round that change at all. We all saw it was the wrong move on this game. Unai **** it big time today. For as good as we have been recently he has truly **** it tonight.’

Because we only need to finish above one of them?

Is it brighton for us next after Ipswich?

Yep. Chelsea play Liverpool at home that weekend and Villa at home to Fulham. Forest home to Brentford who’ve picked up a bit. So could be a significant weekend.

Because City’s fixtures are piss easy and they should comfortably walk into the top 5.

Villa now have zero margin for error. The max points they can achieve is 69. It means that, chances are, 3 wins will definitely be enough for us.

I think this is now a play off game between us and Chelsea if we both win this weekend. Gonna be some twist and turns though, it's us after all.

Wolves, Bournemouth and Fulham can easily take points of this City side.  For a start Wolves are in great form - unbeaten in five.

Only 1 of our rivals picked up points. Rather than them Both getting points.

We don’t need to finish above them both (most likely).  The one that we are most likely to be finish above - lost - that’s a great result.

We want to be in a 3 horse race.  Not a 5 horse race

We don't have to finish above Man City. Or Forest for that matter. As long as Chelsea and Villa keep dropping points it doesn't really matter what the other two do.

We could do with beaten Brighton mind they're not great at all. Yet have done us twice.

We should not play into their style ie they suck us into pressing their keeper  - let them come and play and leave gaps in behind
