Chelsea, providing we don’t lose to them, won’t finish top 5. Their fixtures are tough.

They keep nicking results though

Two of our rivals played tonight. Between them they accumulated 3 points, if it was a draw it would have been 2 points accumulated. How is Man City winning better than a draw!

A draw is better if you need to finish above both of them. We don’t, we just need to finish above one of them.

A win, especially for City who are going to finish above or near enough to us, helps keep Villa at a distance.

Instead of having two clubs 1 or 2 points behind us after the upcoming weekend, one will be five behind if we win. That’s better for us finishing Top 5.

We need to finish above two to get 5th. People keep overlooking Chelsea.

Its no good not overlooking Chelsea but overlooking Villa.

We finish behind either were likely not making it, so Villa losing is good

Sunday they may have nicked it late on. But that was their first away win since early December, I believe.

They also drew at home with Ipswich the game before and haven’t been in great form at all. With most of their fans sick to death of their manager.

Even their winning streak before that at home was pretty much exclusively against teams down the bottom.

If we beat Ipswich we go above Man City again and effectively a 6 point gap with the goal difference to Villa. Why are some people going on like this city win puts them miles clear

Villa fan at work said he’d much rather they got CL than win the FA Cup solely because of the revenue increase. Baffling.

If Villa qualify for the CL - they will challenge for the PL next season. Or at least be 75+ points IMO.

If they can keep this squad together, they can give it all a good go next season.

They are like us in the respect - they are almost one of the best teams in Europe. Keep what they have (including the loan players), maybe add 1 more quality piece. They are set. Don't qualify for the CL, don't keep the loan lads - it's another season fighting tooth and nail for CL, without the depth to challenge for 4 comps.

If only football was played on paper 😁

Just checked - Man City have only been beaten twice since January and one of those were Liverpool, they’re not going to drop another point.

If Villa manage to keep their loan players, I think they have an easier time putting a top 4 squad together compared to us

Looking at their current squad, and  add a top RB and probably a top CB and for me they're probably the 4th best team in the prem

Whereas for us we are a ST, RW, GK, CB, and then imo a CM and FB away from having the 2* quality in each position / limited drop off

Though Villa's wage bill is a good chunk bigger than ours, and hopefully we make CL for the 2nd time in 3 years.... So it's definitely way more complicated than I just laid out

Good Ebbening. So I recorded the City-Villa game as I was working. Set the recording at the last minute as I was busy as hell. This moron right here recorded the low definition Spanish language broadcast. At least I got to hear GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLL in added time as Villa get zero points.

Since mid-January they did only draw at Brentford and Old Trafford, and at home to Brighton, so they're not perfect. But I suspect you're right.

just making those loan players in to permanent signings will cost a fortune and very very high wages. They’ll have little room for much else or will need to sell. Can’t see them keeping both Rashford and Asensio.
