Both Madrid results are a shock. Carlo can't seem to get the side going atm.

Kroos was so crucial to their ad-hoc build up play.  French lads in the middle need to step up.

And Mbappe  causes more questions than answers.

Genuinely wouldn't swap Martinez for any keeper anywhere in the world.

He's so important to us.

Anyway, still 100% against Bayern.

Not even Dubravka?

You should. Hell of a deal for your club... 🤣

Watching Martinez tonight made me even more angry that we had the Man United loving, big lugged prick between the sticks for the Milan game last season. Cost us that game and many more.

He is incredible in the big moments when it matters and an absolute shithouse. I’m jealous.

It's not just on-pitch, it's what he brings to the team mentally. Him, Tyrone Mings, McGinn, they are a solid psychological spine.

Villa are looking capable of what we weren't - Champions League campaign and another top 4-6 performance in the league. Think they'll finish 10-15 points ahead of us season.

Will depend on injuries etc.

Yeah, people were saying similar things about us after the 4-1 game vs PSG at this time of the season.

Lots can happen between now and then, but there are three differences IMO which suggest Turnbull has a good chance of being correct: 1) they have better depth outside their starting XI than we did 2) Emery actually uses his substitutes a bit more 3) their system isn't as reliant on pressing quite so much.

Let's see.

Yes Villa beat Bayern but we destroyed PSG

It was an amazing win but psg had started the seasin badly. I had a kuttke hope that we couldve won that game as they had already lost in ligue 1 that season.

Bayern hadn't lost a group stage match since 2017. There record in the UCL is just better in general than PSG.

Both equally great achievements.

10-15 points ahead is a bit extreme unless you think we will have another injury crisis. Also didn't Jacob Ramsey go off injured during their match...

I think they'll perform better than we did in Europe last year, but I have that down to the fact they've got a bigger squad and this ridiculous format.

Whilst they're smashing Young Boys, we were playing PSG, Milan and fucking Dortmund. Twice. Not to take anything away from the result last night, mind. They were excellent.

Lilewise they have atleast 4 more games than us currently. If we count the inevitable knock out stages for them.

Talking about their league performances that is, which can get impacted by more games.
