It's not though. Or it shouldn't be.

Pretty much every sport will have an overriding "spirit of the game rule". And in this instance if there was no initial foul it would have clearly been a goal. Just give it.

Would love to see a ref with the balls to actually stick by their own instincts and just give that.

What denied the goal there was the rules, not the "denial of a goalscoring opportunity".

A new situation for them to process perhaps, but one that deserves a rule change pronto.

Do we reckon when Dermot Gallagher praises the referees on Ref Watch tomorrow for following the laws of the game they'll ask him what about all the times refs don't follow them when they bottle second yellows or don't give decisions early because they're "managing the game and maintaining the spectacle"?

Well, there is a clear red card offence that goes unpunished if they give the goal.. Which means more?

But funny thing is, I heard yesterday that Bruno's foul is not DOGSO, because he doesn't have the ball. When in fact, the ball is coming to him. Haaland doesn't have the ball here, but for some different reason that is DOGSO.

Well anyway, I am just glad Liverpool lost again [emoji38]

Watching Juve-Lazio. Guess that’s the template for our new shirts then. Awful imo

Surely we'd have had that template this season if ever we were going to

For some reason Adidas always do a bit "out there" designs for Juve only

Checked the leaks now and you’re right, it’s not the same, albeit similar. Not quite as outlandish as this Juve one

Got genuine respect for anyone still watching these matches today I’m still completely fed up after that Brentford loss

Nothing cheers me up more than a successful hate watch. Didn’t look good at one point when the free kick went in but it was lovely in the end

Got to admit I'm like that when we go out of  the cups. Any later ties that weekend and I'm like " Who gives a fk?"

Yeah, and for later rounds it feels like an international break weekend. Shite.

Game's gone but 2-1 and Szlob suspended is probably better than 3-1.

Yeah, not really when his ban is V Sunderland

We're 6 points behind Liverpool, our objectives should still be to catch them not finish above the mackems, regardless of how bad the season has been.

This is what the game is now. Var micro analyse every major incidents. It actively looks to rule goals out. Large reason why football is so shite these days

Thats fair. I hadn’t thought that much into it. You are absolutely correct

Opta says Liverpool have tied the Premier League record by conceding four winners after the 90th minute this season.

We're very ropey in the league this year, but that is the "mentality monsters" we are up against.
