Done a bit of digging about on this cos I was curious and it seems that getting Chelsea tickets is still difficult.

And the 40,000 is a bit of a red herring because capacity is only very slightly over 40,000. So if a few hundred don’t turn up that dips them under that level. Their average attendance is 39,500ish.

There does seem to be plenty of people complaining that ticket prices have gone up massively there for some parts of the ground though. And just complaining about their hypercapitalist owners in general.

They're still trying to punt tickets for Sundays FA Cup Semi Final. Members allowed to buy up to 3 each! Think their general sale areas for home games still sell out but not the corporate bits.

Got to think that Chelsea are suffering from the same lack of professionalism and dignity that some of our players are. Shambles.

I wish I could laugh, but we are nearly as bad, FFS.

Minteh pumping in cross after cross. Done it so many times tonight.

In the Newcastle team he'd be getting swarmed in his own half and losing the ball, and being called a donkey most likely.

Chelsea have the most bizarre strategy of any club I have ever seen under this new ownership. They have spent billions of pounds with the end result being entirely unproven and inexperienced player managed by an inexperienced, unproven manager. They seem to have no plan as to how this is actually meant to lead to success outside of the resale value.

Conspiracy theory: their owner hates Chelsea[emoji38]

- Bought loads of overvalued players for no reason

- Sacked Tuchel and hired a mid-table manager in Graham Potter

- When Potter is inevitably sacked, hired an even more incompetent Lampard and results got even worse

- When Lampard is also sacked, hired Pochettino, who didn't have a job for more than half of the previous 4 years, but Poch proved he can still do a decent job and the team showed encouraging signs of revival. In order to curb their reemergence, they decided to sack Poch for apparently no reason.

- Then they hired Maresca, who never managed any teams in the top flight, but he did a very good job by getting back to UCL, winning the UECL and becoming the world champions. 'Disappointed' by their achievements, they decided to sack Maresca as well.

- Hired Rosenior and he's doing a 'good' job now.

Chelsea's arch rivals Fulham had many iconic American players, like Dempsey, McBride, Keller and Bocanegra. In contrast, the massive American talent of Christian Pulisic was wasted at Chelsea. Their American owners are secretly Fulham fans and tried every means to bottle Chelsea.[emoji38]

Aye, that’s the sense I got about general sale still being in big demand but the rip-off price seats aren’t seeing enough interest.

Sadly enough we're worse. Still can't fathom that we're in 14th place. Having said that we're only 6 points off these clowns. Weird season.

We're absolutely nowhere near those cunts.

Our lot are tired, mentally and physically exhausted, and likely disillusioned.

Their lot are a bunch of overpaid kids, grateful cucks, and know-nowt mercenaries happy to sign up to some soulless venture run by clueless fat cat financiers.

The CEO of a superleague club apparently stated a Leicester (aka an outsider) must never be allowed to win the title again. Looks like they've finally completed the demolition job on them.

Their Westview seats were £130 last season. They're £395 this season. Exact same seats, no free food or drink. Nothing. Just standard seats. Unsurprisingly they've never really sold this season.

I agree that we’re at a tipping point in terms of ticket price value for money across most of the PL. More and more people will balk due to the cost of tickets and walk away to spend their money on something else.

Attendance figures are tickets sold, they include people who have tickets not turning up.

I checked and got their capacity at 41841, no idea if that's correct or not now? Smaller capacity than advertised would explain it a bit, aye

Stand by things being at a bit of a crossroads - tickets are ridiculous and genuine fans are gradually being priced out of grounds. Tourists with money to burn are sitting where long-standing fans used to more and more now. You can only inflate things so much until everything bursts

To be fair I hate playing Brighton at the best of times, but aye I can’t see us getting out next Saturday.

Just shy of 2/1 for those partial to a bet. Likely to change if/when we lose on Saturday.

The funny thing is part of the attraction of English football is the crowds and the noise - soon enough the grounds (especially around London) will be full to the brim with tourists overpaying to absorb the atmosphere, and finding there’s none as every other punter is the same as them.

Ah well, there’s always the chance to watch the game through your iPhone while sitting there, or taking countless selfies with your back to the match.  Some traditions will never die.

They've stopped playing for that manager. That much is evident. Tbe lack of any sort of effort or commitment was astounding. They play the mackems last day of the season. If Sunderland need to win get into Europe they'll turn this lot over no bother.
