Who decided this arsenal game was a good one for telly

First weekend without the NFL in the USA, this KO time settles them nicely in the lunch time KO period on the East Coast.

Yeah, not a hindsight thing, just a baffling selection. For every 1 in 50+ times Wigan might cause a huge upset, about 40 of them would have panned out this very way. I can't see anyone other than Arsenal fans continuing to watch, unless hate watching, ha.

They could have spun Birmingham-Leeds as Raiders-49ers.

FA Cup games are largely picked for the overseas TV coverage. Most countries only get what we televise, and the different KO times obviously play apart. It’s why Man Utd’s FA Cup games have been selected for TV for decades despite the opposition they are up against.

The big clubs are always going to get televised, and it’s even been seen recently with Wrexhams games being shown on TV.

If we keep up with our ambitions, we’ll end up being in the same position.

TLDR: Glory hunters in other countries are more important than domestic viewers.

Man City's last 2 FA Cup matches have been on at 3pm on Saturday, not even on TV here. The might not be as popular as the real big 3 in the UK, but their overseas fan base is surely growing. You don't usually have Man Utd vs Crystal Palace on Sky at 4.30pm if Chelsea vs Man City was right there. Could have bunged the Chelsea match or Liverpool matches on at this prime slot, albeit both ended up pretty one sided, but both were much more intriguing pre match than this one
