midds
We were always going to need to beat Everton on the final day if we were going to make it. Have to assume the other clubs will get their results whilst hoping they slip up at some point. It's easy now - WIN AND IN
Shays Given Tim Flowers
We’d have all taken beating Everton at home on the final day for champions league. It may not even come to that.
Shays Given Tim Flowers
In fact, that’s the worst case scenario.
The Prophet
This is it, a favour would have been nice, but it was always more in hope than expectation. We've kept it in our own hands, which is all you can ask really. On a side note, that point at Brighton is looking very decent.

They were there for the taking but we didn’t quite perform close to our best. Massive point compared to none, obviously.
Stifler
Aye, we should have won that game. I’m disappointed that we didn’t go for it a bit more for it in added time when they were totally done. A win there and we now only need 1 point. It is what it is though. I think we’ll get 3 points out of one of our remaining games. I honestly think we are more than capable of getting 6 points, and can certainly see us getting at least 4 points. For me the key was Chelsea. I honestly feared that we wouldn’t win that game. Fuckers had to snatch the win last night, why couldn’t they just fall away?
Hhtoon
Thought ManU weren't too bad yesterday Certainly prefer our last fixture to Villas as it stands.

If you want some hope, they have a horrible record at Old Trafford. Not that it'll count for much if they've been on the lash all week like. STM
The atmosphere at home to Everton will be off the charts. I also think we'd pump Joelinton full of pain killers to get an hour out of him. Everton are going to be out of spunk following their home game at Goodison which is going to sap all their emotions.
johnny36
I still look back on that Gordon penalty miss against Everton..I hope we batter them next week Edited May 17 by johnny36

Yeah, not sure if a cup win is better as they'll not give a shit, or if they lose and probably also not give a shit
ExiledGeordie
Gordon will have a point to prove against Arsenal but especially against Everton at home.
Hhtoon
Was also thinking, as much as I despise Chelsea, I'd probably rather they got one of the 5 Vs Villa and Forest. We need to start breaking away from other teams and the financial hit to Villa and Forest could set them back. Chelsea seem to have no financial issues so they'll be there or there abouts next season regardless.
Ikon
Unlikely but I want us and Forest.

This has to happen: Palace wins against City. Forest win both their games. Villa win both their games. Chelsea win with alot of goals vs Man Utd. Newcastle losing both their games. Odds of that happening is like 1000/1 Since Chelsea didn't win with a lot of goals, and they need to lose to Forest for Forest to leapfrog us on points, I take it that we are now assured of Europa League (by finishing in sixth) so long as we do not lose to Arsenal and Everton with a bigger hit to our goal difference than the hit to Chelsea's goal difference from them losing to Forest. We are +3GD ahead of Chelsea, and they need to lose too to help Forest, so provided with do not lose our next two by a combined -4GD, we're in the Europa regardless of Forest-Chelsea. So us missing out on Europa is even more "miniscule" than it was before. Forest not winning tomorrow, or a point for us against Arsenal will confirm it. This is a maths exercise only because I fully expect us to get results in both games and qualify for CL.
The Prophet
I'm not sure what's more impressive. Villa's recent form or that they've only gained two points on during that run.

We are ahead on goals scored vs Chelsea so that means we have to get a combined -5gd in our last two. So yeah, think its safe to say that we have qualified for Europa as a minimum now. City will probably win later today anyways to confirm it. Europa isnt a bad place to land if the worst happens. Can fill up your bank account aswell if you are willing to make the bet on worst case scenario.
