The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Recommended Posts

We have only had three league victories in a row once this season I believe, outside of that we have only had back to back victories on 2 other occasions, including today.

If we can get some sort of form which should be achievable considering our run of games, then there is no reason why we shouldn’t come 6th, anything else will need a capitulation from either Spurs of Villa.

Extremely unlikely but all we can do is put as much pressure on as possible.

We are 10 points behind Spurs, and they have the following left to play still:

Arsenal (h)
Chelsea (a)
Liverpool (a)
Man City (h)

Yeah I think they targeted us for 3 points in their minds as they go for top 4 with those fixtures and then I can only see them getting another 2 wins now, I would love to catch them but it will be a big ask, and mean us winning at old Trafford against the sporney man's.

Who knows with this crazy season ???

Don't get too excited, Spurs' other two games are against Burnley and Sheff Utd......

Spurs have a good history of going to already relegated clubs late in the season when there's positions riding on it.

If they're going into them on the back of 2-3 hidings they'll become a bit icky.

That's wins against all the 'top 6' this season now other than Liverpool isn't it?

Annoying we've smashed Villa twice and Spurs again today but will finish below the both. Think even just having Barnes and Pope available we'd have finished above them.

Top 4 obviously is extremely unlikely but if we finished 5 at villas expense that would be incredible silver lining to an insanely challenging season.

Dropped points will be our enemy though. I'm just hoping we can finish in a European place.

Let's be honest, even if we did pull off a minor miracle and finish 5th it would still mean EL instead of CL........

Can someone help me with the European places, if we finish 5th it’s either CL or Europa. 6th is Europa or Conf League and 7th is Conf league?

so finishing as low as 7 is gtd European footie?

I think we'd need either England to get the extra CL place or a team in the top 4/5 to win the FA Cup. If both happen, then 8th would be enough.

No just need City to win the FA Cup.

we have 4 CL places in the league, 5th is Europa, FA Cup is Europa, League Cup is Conference.  Liverpool won league cup so 6th is conf. If City win Fa cup Conf will be done to 7th with extra Europa in the league.

Any of those come with qualifying rounds or is it just right into the group stages?

I realise this isn't the time, but God if we could have turned Everton and Luton into wins...

We can do this. We shouldn't rule it out until it's mathematically impossible. There's a reason Postecoglu and Maddison looked despondent today.

If we win our next two and they those theirs then the pressure is very much on. Having said that, despite their tough schedule 20p is probably too much. Anything can happen in football though.
