WilliamPS Posted Wednesday at 20:50 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:50 Villa will really target this game as they have City away on Tuesday and the cup semi final on Saturday after. Losing both league games could finish off their CL hopes, losing the cup semi ends any hopes of a trophy. I reckon they’ll go all in on Saturday and then play the B team (which beat Forest away so no pushovers) at City. I think this will be the toughest game left this season, but a win will finish off Villa as a CL rival - fantastic opportunity

Chelsea are too inconsistent and honestly.. shit. City and Villa are the big challengers for me. 70 is usually enough for 4th. 5th will take 68 max. Maybe as little as 66 or 65. Villa will likely need a point more than anyone else.

t00nt00n313 Posted Wednesday at 20:54 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:54 66 will probably be enough so long as we dont lose to Chelsea. 68 would nearly guarantee us.

Emery seems to be rotating all of them - all the time. At least the big hitters are not consistently getting 90s.
Erikse Posted Wednesday at 20:55 Share Posted Wednesday at 20:55 (edited) I still think Man City isn't much to think about purely from a top 5 perspective, as I think it's highly unlikely for them to stumble that much against those teams. After Forests game against Villa I still thought they would make it, but I was surprised to see them lose again at home to Everton. They're still in a decent spot, but if they get yet another loss (or draw) next weekend then things are starting to look really scary for them. Still feel we dropped some unnecessary points in the first half of the season - and yet here we are. Just shows how difficult the league's been for everyone this year. Really hoped we had gotten more goals against Leicester to get that GD up, as it will be like an extra point in the run in. Two games later - here we also are. Just love this team. Every game feels like life or death, but you can stumble quite a bit every season and finish 4th/5th. It’s title races that usually allow for very little margin of error. Optimistic Nut Posted Wednesday at 21:01 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:01 Beat Villa and we could give Arsenal a real push for 2nd. Mightn't even be a push if they start saving players for the CL. We've bought ourselves a free hit tonight, think Villa might be the one we might drop a few points but the perfect game after that to restore things. Paullow Posted Wednesday at 21:03 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:03 1/20 at PP now. Not sure if you can bet on a team not finishing in the top 5 at a traditional bookie, but must be around 10/1 now.

Jonas Posted Wednesday at 21:09 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:09 Chances for City and/or Chelsea to drop something this weekend. Don't think we will on account of it being too much and too good - but if we beat Villa and points are dropped there. It'd demoralise everyone else, suspect they'll be only thinking about 4th and 5th from that point.

SiLvOR Posted Wednesday at 21:17 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:17 I don't want to get too carried away, as it's not been that many games yet. However, since winning the cup, it feels like a monumental shift in our mindset has occurred. Our elite players are taking this challenge of finishing in the top 4/5 as nothing short of business as usual. We'll probably drop some points between now and the end of the season, but fuck me. I am so excited by what can happen with this team. If we make CL, I really feel like the floodgates will open as we'll be here as genuine contenders. We got some exciting times ahead, that's for damn sure.

Decky Posted Wednesday at 21:27 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:27 We'll beat Ipswich and Chelsea. Chelsea will be like the Spurs game two years ago. I reckon if we have to beat Everton we'll hammer them.

Delayed til the summer so won't affect his season. Really looking forward to Villa game now. Given ourselves a free hit to go there and knock them out the race. All the pressure should be on them to win. Will still be very tough and could still lose, but our players had an easy 2nd half today, have a week off after villa and are in fabulous form. As others said the elite players look like they are taking this upon themselves with Howe missing and just doing what needs to be done. As long as Tonali and Isak stay fit, we can go to win every one of those remaining games and have this wrapped up ema few games early.
Colos Short and Curlies Posted Wednesday at 21:46 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:46 Looking at the evolution of the 22/23 team to this season's vintage and one difference is the celebrations. 22/23 seemed to be kneeslide city, almost like it was pure emotion each game. Distinct lack of the slide this year in comparison, this is all business
