Hoping for a City win tonight. A draw after that.

Don't want Villa winning. If they lose and we win Saturday, we're 5 points ahead of them with 4 to play.

Come on City.

It's 2 clear wins with goal difference, essentially no margin for error if we win the 2 home games and essentially done and dusted the weekend after next if we do the business against Brighton

Not all of them, probably two.

Expecting no wiggle room is asking for trouble.

If we can’t beat Ipswich Chelsea and Everton at home we don’t deserve to be in the CL.

The wriggle room is probably not needing any points against Brighton or Arsenal.  We should obviously target at least 1 point considering what we have on the line.

That Chelsea game is everything isn’t it. I’m giving myself a migraine thinking about it

Be handy if they’re not 4 or 5 nil up after the first leg of the Conference semi final and they have to give the second leg their full attention.

- Win all of our home games gives us 68 points (with currently a +13 goal diff advantage over Villa). If we reached 68 Villa would currently need 12 points to overtake us which means them needing to win every game they have left (they would also need to overhaul our GD)

- Beat Chelsea for me means they’re out of the race. They have the hardest run in (Everton, Liverpool, us and Forest) plus European games.

- if we win all of the home games and get a point in any of the aways then it’s done for me. We make it.

They wouldn't in your example, as they'd be 1 point ahead

But yeah, 3 wins and a draw guarantees us ahead of Villa

Don't think that'll make any difference. Conference league is absolutely meaningless to them in comparison. Manager probably gets sacked if all they do is win that

I wouldn’t quite say ‘meaningless’. Aye, they probably prioritise our game regardless, but if they went over there and got turned over, the fans would go (even more) mad, and the pressure would get ramped up even further, so they probably have to give it some attention.

Hasn’t he been resting players with the ECL in mind now they’re at the business end of the competition?

Villa just drop 3 points and that means two wins and a draw sees us above them. I think we’ll finish ahead of them. One big thing is seeing if Chelsea put some wins together after that big Fulham win . I think we’ll do it.

Not to tempt fate but as tight as it is, it could all end up being over a couple of games before the end if we beat Chelsea. At least in regards to them

Chelsea playing Forrest is huge, they're also still in the Conference, even playing a second string it's taking time and recourses away from the league. Forrest in the semis of the FA Cup then have a fairly quick turnaround of games.

Biggest issue with Villa is they have a full week off for each game from now to the end of the season on top of a strong squad. They need to win all 4 realistically though.

Bournemouth away is the game where you think Villa are most likely to drop points, think they win the other 3 especially as Spurs/ManU are distracted (they are crap too)

Bournemouth will want to finish 8th as that could very well be Europa Conference spot but their recent form has been terrible

Bournemouth away is pretty much the same as our Brighton away really . Villa will still likely win the other 3 games so that late goal for City last night was massive for us as Villa are still likely to get another 9/10 points .

Just beat Ipswich on Saturday. I reckon by the time our game is over the table will be:

NUFC : 62

City : 61

Chelsea : 60

Forest : 60 (game in hand)

Villa : 57

Would be tough for Villa to catch us from that, think only City, Forest & Chelsea would be capable. Beat Chelsea and I think we're there.

I hope we manage to qualify for UCL, either way it’s going to be an exciting (and nerve-wrecking) final few weeks.

I think we’ll miss Howe but hopefully the work he’s put in behind the scenes gets us over the line and he can come back fresh whenever he’s ready.

That graphic is weird, Forest's game in hand is against Brentford, and their game against Palace is just a standard weekend game (Albeit a Monday night match) along with everyone else.

I don't know why, but Opta chances percentage is annoying me this season, its everywhere, and can change wildly depending on one result
