The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)

Villa still worry me the most , I would be expecting at least 10 points from them four games if it was us and 12 isn't unrealistic either . That would mean we need another 7 including beating Chelsea.

If we get 6 points with 3 of those vs Chelsea it probably won't matter if Villa get 12.

:yao: - my worry is they'll be at the beach

They’re not going to be at the beach, they have a chance to deny Chelsea CL football, that’s a big motivation

Win 2 games and it's done for my tuppence. Would love those 2 wins to come in the next 2 games, will likely whitey if owt is riding on the Everton game.

Win these two to make Arsenal a bit of a 6-pointer would be lovely. How serious will Arsenal take the Bournemouth game on Saturday for instance with the PSG second leg and nothing else to play for?

Forest losing to brentford is massive I reckon, I could see them getting maybe 7 points from their remaining games (draw to palace away, lose to Chelsea, win the other two) which puts them on 67 but their gd is pretty bad.

Especially with forest playing Chelsea it means we now have more potentially paths to 5th (I'll be honest before I had ruled out first missing out completely).

I'm staring to think 67 points may be enough, so like a draw to Brighton and Chelsea, then a win against Everton for example. That does still ride on villa not winning every one of their remaining games mind.

Liverpool winning the league so early was always going to be bad news. I had Chelsea and Villa missing out a week ago but now I think it’s Forest and Villa.

Still getting to 68 points should be enough regardless.  Maybe 69 at a push as Chelsea’s GD is on par with us.

Beating Chelsea has always been imperative.  We need the Chelsea and Forest game to matter for both sides. If either Forest or Chelsea already have 69 we are in trouble

Liverpool will still want to win their remaining games, they can finish on 94 points which would be the highest points tally for champions since they last won it, and would put to bed the criticism that they've won the league by default.

Couldn’t care about Liverpool rotating and being off it. We get a point this weekend, win our homes games, we’ve got top 5. Comfortably in our hands which is all that matters.

Regardless what happens this weekends. It’s still in our hands with 3 to go.

Who cares?

It’s good that Forest are faltering. The fixtures have dropped nicely for Chelsea in terms of their Man U and Liverpool fixtures. That’s 4-6 points imo.  If they can beat one of us or Forest that will secure CL for them - maybe even just 1 draw.

I’ve long felt 68 points would seal it for us and sticking with that.

I was always hoping that Forest would come unstuck. Not because I've got anything against them, just there was always more chance of them failing than Chelsea or Villa. Would prefer Villa nd Chelsea to fail, but Forest was always a hopeful safety net for us.

If not for Liverpool winning the title so early I didn’t fancy Chelsea to get more than 67 points.

I now reckon they beat Liverpool and would come to us looking for a draw.

It's just occured to me that if we win all our remaining games (unlikely but not completely unplausible) we would very likely finish the league in second.

Can always dream anyway

I agree with that. Especially considering we have to play them still so that would mean they only have to lose one game in the other 3.

Unlikely, as you say, but I think finishing 2nd is currently more likely than finishing 7th for example.

Forest are faltering but still have 3 of the easiest fixtures in the PL and a 6 pointer.

West Ham and Leicester are 2 of the worst teams in the Division. Palace will be distracted by their biggest game ever coming up.  Forest might fuck it up but I expect they will have a minimum of 64 points by the end of GW37.  Which is ideal for us.  I think Chelsea will have 64/66 at that point too.
