Teams play 8 different teams - 2 from each pot. So every teamfaces two pot 1 sides, 2 from pot 2 etc.

So everyone gets the same spread of difficulty more or less.

Thats my understanding anyway.

It's why I'd fancy us to do what Villa have done. There's no handicap to being in pot 4 anymore.

From what I can see both Garnacho & Fernandes both more comments last night about leaving/being forced out. They will have zero fight for Sunday. They stank the place out in a major European final last night what makes anyone think it’ll be different on Sunday

ive long realised Villa were getting max points out their last 2 games we just need to win ourselves.

all the more reason to put themselves in the shop window

Only if we don’t win.

It's only if we draw it matters, right? If we lose, one of them will go above us. If we draw, and their game ends in a draw, we're above both of them and get CL. If either of them win, they go above us.

Forest and Chelsea draw then a draw for us would mean we finish above both of them. We lose and one of those 2 won then the winner would finish above us and we'd be relying on Villa to lose....i think.

We’ll win on Sunday. Villa will thump Man U, they’re absolute cannon fodder to Villa’s strengths.

City will get something at Fulham. I fancy Chelsea to beat Forest but that could be a very nervous game for both teams. Forest will sit back, Chelsea will have loads of possession and fanny around. At some point if it’s goalless one of them will need to roll the dice.

I actually fancy Forest to beat Chelsea. Villa win, Man City possibly a draw. It’s not out of the question we draw too if Isak is out. Not sure what that set of results mean for us?

Europa League

With matches being played simultaneously and with a goal potentially being scored at any time I’d hate to go into the 90th minute with both games poised at 1-1.

We need to put these Scouse twats to bed in the first half.

It's not 4 teams, you face 8 different teams

So you could play Real Madrid away but won't get to face them at home

Without been to pessimistic is the Europa league the worst thing that can happen to us ?

Is this a general question or do you mean what's the lowest we could finish?

Although unlikely there is a scenario where we could finish 7th and therefore go into Europa Conference

For that to happen Villa and Forest would need to win, plus we'd need to lose by 4 more than Chelsea

I personally think it would be a fantastic competition for us to be in. The modern game is all about money so if we really want to progress not getting champions league now might be damaging for the club going forward?

I want the Champions League of course as it's the premier competition and we're a good cup side now. I'm not saying we'd win it but we could get as far as Villa did this year.

Would really help with the finances, club profile and player retention.

However, if we do end up in the Europa I'll make my peace with it. We'd have a good chance of winning it which would bring UCL the following year, would be another trophy, bring in a decent amount of money, and would also raise the profile. The final being at Beşiktaş would be big for me personally too if we were to get there.

Would be more pressure to win it though and the games wouldn't be as big.

3 more than Chelsea, but still very unlikely.

4 isn't it?

Our GD is 2 better, if they lose ours would be 3 better so for us to go below them it would need to be a loss by 4?

I won't contemplate any scenario where we don't qualify for CL. It's absolutely imperative that we do for the project to continue to progress as well as it has done. Qualifying for Europa League, with the expectation that we should give it a real go as it seems winnable, with a squad lacking in numbers (of the required quality) to sustain it while also staying in the fight for CL qualification next season could mean another season like last year's is on the cards for 2025/26 and then it would feel like we are so close but just cannot make that last step (due to PSR constraints). Qualify for CL, invest the extra revenue from prize money and especially commercial revenue increases that should follow wisely, and we could cement our place as top four regulars in the coming years, and perhaps even challenge for a title if things go our way. Howay the lads, let's smash Everton on Sunday and make this season a truly memorable breakout one!
