LFC: They bribed officials, artificially inflated their income and got an official tractor partner!

PL: They did?

LFC: No, but are we just going to wait around until they do?!

Many Liverpool fans have an interesting definition of cheating and fairness when it comes to football ownership.

As an honest Newcastle fan, I will admit that it isn't in the spirit of football to have sovereign nations connected with football ownership.

That ship has sailed unfortunately and you can argue that the fairest system is one where any club, from around the world, is able to have unrestricted investment to help it grow.

Their definition of fairness is that every club should lock into the wealth and revenues they have now (which is a function of historical success and whether the club has been run sensibly) and that should never be able to change for eternity. All clubs should respect their place in the pecking order and no investment should be allowed to change that.

Liverpool were a second division team with a very mediocre history when they were bought out by the richest sugar daddy of that era and went on to spend unheard of fees before promotion. That led to their dominance (both footballing and financial) of the game and all their money now is a legacy of that. Now they want to kick the ladder away and say it's not fair, when in fact teams with lower spending are finishing above them.

No one got more than two. That should be a good thing!

If this version of City didn't exist then next season you'd have the most wide open Premier League title race I can recall.

Salah's right mind. They had everything to qualify for the CL.

14years head-start on Newcastle, referees, VAR referees, the media, trying to stop our takeover, threatening to form a new league, intimidation of match officials, allegations of bias against the whole shabang.

and still fucked it up at the first possible hurdle.

I don't have a problem with anything Salah said. It's enjoyable to read, but he's well within his right to say their expectation is CL and they failed. Not the same as the fans who act like it's their right to be there.

It's more the way it comes across as "the day football died" because plucky underdogs Liverpool didn't get their mandatory CL finish.

Aye, nothing wrong with the Salah quotes. He's acknowledging a professional failure and taking responsibility.

We are becoming sensitive little bitches.

Bit weird if he’s OK to have a breakdown over finishing 5th and not 4th, but we’re sensitive bitches for commenting on it

Some chumps now saying 4th and 5th place should have a play off for the final champions league spot.  We did have a play off, each team played a 38 game season , playing each team home and away.  [emoji38]

Only the 5th place team wants this. They would not want this if they were 4th

That's fine but it has to be decided before the start of the season. You can't just want it as you'll finish 5th.

I didn't think there was anything wrong with Salah's comments, I just thought it was utterly hilarious in a schadenfreude kind of way, and loved licking up them tears

The whole play off for UCL places argument will be pointless from next season anyway as 5th place will qualify. So there will be one less team moaning about missing out and it'll most likely be Spurs and Chelsea so no one will care.
