The problem is he is already the most technical winger we have had, which means he has to do a huge lot of stuff under Howe’s current setup, because he is the only one who can do it, both physically and technically. I said Barnes would have problem to fill in the role, which was proven again this year when he started at LW/LM. He simply did nothing there. I don’t think we can replace him. It’s possible, or you could say easy, to sign a winger that is technically as good as Gordon. But if you also need the winger to be physically strong enough and do all the works assigned by Howe, then no. I can’t think of anyone that we can realistically sign this summer, unless our scout can unearth a fucking gem out from nowhere. Wingers like ASM doesn’t fit Howe’s requirement.
