Be interesting when Barca parade him out to do some keepy-uppies. Suspect he'll just do zoomies around the pitch instead.

Do you think anyone would turn up?

It's not out of the realm of possibility that Gordon has trouble breaking into their first XI for the biggest games. I'm not sure how he'd handle that.

Have read other comments, but personally think its around the right money for him, especially if the add-ons are easily achievable. Lad at work reckons there's a sell-on clause (for us) in the deal too, but not seen that myself.

Agreed. It's there-or-thereabouts for value and I think the deal satisfies everyone.

Regarding the sell-on, this is confirmed by the NY Times Ornstein article*. No mention of the amount but I assume 10% minimum, so not bad? Can't imagine he'll retire in Catalonia.

According to a newspaper, although the Bundesliga champions had agreed personal terms with Gordon, their transfer fee offer was lower than Barca's, which allowed Hansi Flick's side to gain control after negotiations were prolonged. Bayern Munich directors are said to have believed that Barca were bluffing in their negotiations with Gordon and that news of their talks was purposely leaked to pressure Manchester United into lowering their asking fee for Marcus Rashford.

Without Alvarez you could imagine Gordon spending time at both LW and striker.

If they get Alvarez it feels like he’ll be in more of a direct competition with Raphinha.

There’s a really good player in there and if it doesn’t happen at Barca, it’s not going to. Obviously if Bayern Munich and Barca are fighting over a player, he’s got to be pretty good. I never imagined it would be Anthony Gordon but life is weird sometimes.

Best of luck to him, never got attached to him as a player but he's always seemed like a nice enough lad. Great move for him and seems like a reasonable price for us. Win-win imo.

Great player on his day, however his days have become few and far between recently, if he was consistent he would be unreal. This transfer doesn't make sense to the eye test but there's obviously a playerr in there and I have no doubt he'll be tearing up trees next season, but for how long? Time will tell I guess.

He never really did fully buy in to NUFC but he played an important part in our recent history and I'm thankful for that. But I'm also thankful hes helping fund our rebuild and I wish him well.

Losing our top scorer again is a risky move but so long as we spend it wisely I'm happy.

In a way I think Bayern made the right move and call the bluff (even though it wasn’t one). Raising beyond Barcelona‘s offer wouldnt have been sensible and Gordon is just not good enough to give them a real boost in quality. They always try to get bargain deals done and that surely wouldnt have been one. Maybe they‘ll go for some low profile guy or Barcola/Doue again.

My ten year old son adores him, all of his nufc shirts have Gordon’s name on the back. He’s the reason my lad became a winger. Safe to say he’s pretty gutted.

Sorry for being thick, but how is this all out in public if the window does not open till June 15th.

Because I’m pretty sure you can buy a player whenever you like, the window is a bit of misnomer in it's title. You just can't register players outside of the 'transfer windows' dates, i suppose calling it the registration time/window doesn't have the same ring really.

Obviously you can register a player if they're on a free once the window had closed, with the caveat that the player had to be free before the said window closed.
